Thanks jbpatzer, maybe we can do it soon.

Isn't this a really cruel game? I'm on a sick, sick heater! Today I played just 23 tourneys @$3 and had a profit of $43.30! Ridiculous ROI of 55%, ITM 52%... this game is so fun when you're winning, right? In three sessions, multi-tabling 9 sng's, in 87 tourneys I'm ahead $96.90.

I think that 9 tables is the max. I can handle for now. I also noticed, apparently after a recent Stars update, that there is an icon on every table that tells you if any of your open tables is sitting out. That is awesome, as I don't have to tile the tables now, worrying about getting timed out in any of the games. My tables are huge now, with plenty of space to display the HUD with 9 stats.

I am also using BlazingStars (the Mac equivalent of hot keys) and it is a huge help. I can relax a lit more, especially early, as almost every play is fold, fold, fold.

In my experience, any big heater is followed by a big downswing. I guess my game must go off kilter somehow with all the excitement of winning, but I always manage to find some card based reason for it. Something for me to work on there! My advice? Beware!

Yeah, this is pretty true. I ran 55% ROI on the $5s, moved up to the $6s, ran another 15BI heater, then a 15BI downer straight after :P
Brace yourself.

Hey guys... Don't you realize I had like three losing months in a row? I lost like 60 buy ins... check the graph! So this is my upswing time! Let me enjoy it! ;-)

Today I wasn't feeling well at all and only played 18 tourneys, but ran very good, 67% ITM, earning $38.70. This week I managed to play 105 sng's with total winnings of $135.60. I even finished I think 17th in the Battle of the Planets Mars high orbit, so there is an extra bonus coming on Monday. *edit: Actually finished 19th.*

Sick heater huh?

Today I received a $30 prize for finishing 19th in the Battle of the Planets, Mars high orbit. I finished way out of the leaderboard in the low orbit (best block ranked me over 1000th), so at least that shows that my game last week was consistent. $30 is a little under 75% of the rake paid last week, so it was even better than getting rakeback.

If only one could manage to sneak in regularly... Not asking to win both orbits... just covering my rake expenses. :-D I'll do my best to stay focused trying to get in every week, but being a stt player is really difficult because I earn a lot fewer points than multi-table grinders. Mtts are way too much time consuming for me, so I'll need to keep playing solid and running good. Not asking for much, right?

Back to grinding

It's been a while since my last update. I've been playing, but not grinding though as I want to. Too many things happening around me, my day job, my night job, my freelance work, guest lecturer, you name it. So poker has been in a 2nd plane for a couple of weeks. This week last five days I've played much more and I'm running hot.

However, psychologically I'm not where I need to be. I've been playing with an absurdly nitty bankroll management since the last downswing. I guess it is better than trying to win back all the losses playing out of my bankroll, but I need to find the balance to where I can play comfortable but earn a little more for my efforts.

I normally play 9 tables with a 100 BI rule. So in Full Tilt I have been playing the $2.25 stt turbos. But I have been winning this last couple of days and almost doubled my Full Tilt bankroll in 7 days, from the low $200's to the low $400's. This account is untracked here, so I have been demoted to bronze... once again.

I am truly amazed by what two fellow strategists have accomplished in very little time, lessthanthree and gedwashere91. It shows all the effort these guys have put into learning and practicing and I must say they are admirable. They have all my respect and both deserve all the good things that are happening to them.

So I am now really inspired to become a much better player. I will watch as many videos as I can, attend all the coachings I can manage to get and good things will happen.

First, today, before starting my session I watched a couple of psychology videos. I was a little more confident, but these things aren't magic, I have to keep putting up a lot more effort. Then I decided to go play at Pokerstars, with my high $500's BR, opened four tables of $10+1 stts and started playing.

Even though it is within the suggested, 50 BI somehow I felt a little uncomfortable jumping from the $3.40's to the $11's just because I have the bankroll. I busted fairly quickly (7th) in one of the tourneys and panic hit me again. I was trying to force myself to keep playing and focusing but gave through and went back to the $5's. I even cashed in the other three $11's, two 3rds and one 1st so I don't know what I have been worrying about. That level is not too much for me... Yes I have to keep practicing and studying but I will beat this level.

What I did in the meantime was playing the $6.50 stt turbos and it is pretty comfortable too. I played 10 of these, cashing in 5, one 1st, three 2nds and one third. I will play there til my BR goes up to $750 and then go up.

Even though most of the thousands of tourneys I've played aren't turbo, I think I am starting to like them more, so I will give them a shot.

Here is the graph of my last 7 days. Stats were: 170 stts, $148 total winnings, 46% itm and 30% ROI... sick heater.

By the way, yesterday I realized that my FT bankroll was once at $0.30 and I have managed to get it above $400 without depositing. I am really proud of that.

I read someone post in the forum that gold status is sexier and I agree... I will be shooting to become Gold once again!

Nice work man! If you need a stake to move up to the $6.50s, give me a buzz! :)

Thanks a lot buddy. I have been this week playing the $5's, $6.50's turbos and some $10+1's, and it's been pretty good. What I've definitely been doing different is that I'm taking time to study. I've been watching some videos, in fact, today I went through pzhon's first video, The Golden Rule, three times in a row! I guess I finally got it... Also I've been reading a lot of the hand reviews, although not commenting nor posting much, but I am getting a clearer picture.

I've taken a couple of big steps this week... on Sunday I was playing the $2's and today I'm playing the $11's! I stopped being such a nit and decided to take some risks. I love a quote from one of Lisa's psychology videos from Wayne Gretzky: "You're going to miss 100% of the shots you never take". And it's true. I had the wrong mindset thinking I was being responsible. I was taking the easiest way, beating the micro's for tiny profits without having to practice or study much. I've decided to become a better player, so I am gonna prepare the way to achieve that.

That doesn't mean I will have an aggressive BRM, just that I won't mind playing any sng's with 50 BI.

In total, this week I've played 114 tourneys with winnings of $151. Soon I'll leave behind the $5's and $6's to play exclusively from $10 up.

Well... have been taking a beating, 30 BI downswing in 4 days. Today it was the worst. In 45 tourneys I bubbled out in 14 of them. The vast majority of the times (10) I was a huge favorite, one flip (absurd... just once...), once ran 77 into 99 and twice I had A-x against KK. I'm stopping play because this hurts my head so bad...
