Yesterday had to go to the embassy :(. I called them a few days ago to ask them if I could send my application by mail and then said i could do that. At 9am yday they called me to say they received my application but I needed to be there in person :f_confused:.

So lost 6 hours for a 10min conv, first interaction with filipinos already pretty dissappointing :f_biggrin:.

Also had a farewell party yday and more to come today :f_love:

Hey guys just owned Marc Karam on NL400 like hell. I live in Gib in the pokerstrategy flat with 2 more colleagues and one of them Patrick is pretty decent player so we play together & analyse.. We already up like 5k in January on NL200/NL400 13bb/100 though small sample still just 6k hands only, but we play AA++ game together.

Look at it

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$2/$4 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
[tg]UTG2$401.10:///////;MP1$1177.60:///////;MP2$1400.80:///////;MP3$1113.05:///////;CO$178.20:///////;BU$571.00:///////;SB$571.40:///////;BB$465.70:///////;UTG1 (Hero)$400.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is UTG1 with J:d, Q:d.
Hero raises to $12.00, 2 folds, MP2 raises to $40.00, 5 folds, Hero calls $28.00.

Flop: ($86) T:c, 9:h, T:d (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $55.00, Hero calls $55.00.

Turn: ($196) J:s (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $110.00, Hero calls $110.00.

River: ($416) 5:d (2 players)
Hero bets $195.00(All-In), MP2 folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: $416.

We put him on mostly AA/KK from the turn on so we decided to call turn for our 11ish outs (sometimes K not out but unlikely he has KK if K comes).

RIVER ACTION
On river we tank and start talking like bad luck we did not hit and when we have 5 sec Patrick says "...if I am him and have Aces I fold if we shove now".. we start laughing than I realize it makes sense: 1. we have only 200 behind to 400 pot already 2. he prly cant fold aces to such odds 3. he is a good player and will know that 4. so he views our shove river as pretty much nuts 5. J on turn completes lot of hands he beats and 6. we never bet worse than aces for value so the only thing he can beat is pure bluff with his AA (while we never bet KK on turn as we have no value in hands we could beat) and 7. he knows we know we never have fold equity as (leading back to 2.) so we never bluff. 8. so our shove river is always nuts and he can fold aces :] _cool: I manage to shove in a last sec of our time bank, Marc tanks a lot, chats and folds:

RIVER CHAT AFTER OUR SHOVE
Marc Karam: lol
Dealer: Marc Karam has 15 seconds left to act
Dealer: Marc Karam has requested TIME
Marc Karam: so sick u turn that
Marc Karam: AhAs
Dealer: Cornie4ever wins the pot ($413)

EDIT - btw we chat with Marc a bit afterwards thanking him he said that he layed down AA and telling him we were bluffing + posting link to this thread so he can see it. He is a nice guy and said he folded AA so we like to let him know what happened and play some more interesting hands with him even if we reveal a lot to him about us which is a huge advantage for him if he knows. But we like the challenge, try to beat him anyways and maybe he likes this blog going forward

:]

hand 1: isnt his range to 3b a UTG like KK+ maybe only AA (i havent played 400 so i am not sure).did u just call b/c of the massive implied odds (b/c of his moster pecieved range)? do u think its a profitable call 100bb deep? btw sick leveling on the river
hand 2: imo u look like a set there alot.

depends from whom, it varies. from Marc prly yes as he multitables so sick.. otherwise i think some good players 3b many hands even vs utg on nl400 just because it looks so strong and have so much FE preflop and on flop.

no, I believe we can overplay the field post flop pretty much, that´s why we call speculative hands. And we wanted to play Marc EV-wise JQs still performs well even if he has AA, I think it is not black and white

.

you mean why we call turn? EDITED - yep, we thought we may stack him on any 8, if we hit J or K we prly win the rest of his stack anyways as we only have 200 behind. We did that sick leveling only later on river. Thinking back about our call turn just for implieds, it is prly technically a mistake against such a good pro (technically we don´t have implied odds as he can fold AA on river what he exactly did.. but we did not know that so we called on turn) - but we did not realize at the moment. And actually calling turn with a plan to ship river and he has to fold is the nuts line so we played like EEEPIC . And yeah on all the streets we were discussing various lines how to bluff him from his AA/KK - which in the end we did. That´s just sick brainstorming with patrick any hand =) So happy to be here in gib and enjoy this moments.

btw - this hand is prly my best online poker moment in my life so wanted to share with people I like - and I like the Philipps crew pretty much so I did.

Yep, but he can think we semi-bluff on T and he likes to C/R turn =)

muhahahah, i like :f_love: did u send him friend-request on facebook after u stacked him twice as well?! _biggrin:

hand 1: i would bet against u that u are able to play QJs utg vs mp2 thinking reg ('s range) 100bb profitable vs 3b after u open 3bb and get 3b to 10bb over decent sample. sidebet? :f_p:

hand 2: your play is fairly standard, also your betsize is best, u nicely set up a river shove. he slightly overplays his hand here vs 90% of fr plrs, but its just a very tough spot oop for him if he doesnt have any reads on u.

yea agree with twicet
i think QJs jam is quite suicidal, I would snap all day when I'm not playing A game haha. I would be like "wtf is this?" and call.
and in hand 2 he's probably fucked regardless of what happens cause you will shove the river even if he check/calls the turn

anyway I hate that guy, I always clash with him a lot in the past few months. I know he is aggro and 3bets a lot, always do the same back to him

lol, sick hand QJ.

you can definately argue that playing with a friend like that is fine, but somehow i think that mark karam wouldn't like that if he read about it

haha, that´s funny idea, but I prly do it only after we stack marc few more times it´s like with girls - the social convention is to ask her out at least twice before you go to action! _biggrin: :f_biggrin:

mhmmm, and how do we judge who won the bet? ;)

yep, fully agree.. that´s why I say we run good - we did the standard EV+ play but were lucky to get in the favourable situation.

Italy here!!

after reading your thread about the " mission on Philip" several weaks ago me and my best friend decided that after the degree in economics (probably in July 2011) we will try to live in a paradise like Cebu for about 3-4 months.

So we will really appreciate if you and your crew after reaching the island will explain where you live (it's really big and we did not undestand where is possible to live in a real" paradise ") how many $ you will spend for the rent, etc..

so plz try to update with as many infos as you can ;)

good luck for all guys!
