[Closed] 98s UTG, tough spot turn

Your range on the turn is hit sets or AA, KK, AQ, JT; Because you are barreling quite big from UTG. So the hands he would want to fold here if he is bluffin would be AA, KK or more likely only AQ or KQ; But I believe that would be too brave. So on the turn is a fold I guess. In my opinion it is a set at least. If he had slow played AA or KK he would not make a raise here, because he would not get a call from a weaker hands and there is not really a lot to protect from. AQ or KQ is far more unlikely in his range on the turn raise. Plus he would want to pot control with a deep stack play.

P.S. Maybe lower Cbet is better? 5.5 or 6$ is enough I guess.

I like the cbetsizing, you're deep so you want to build the pot with strong hands, therefore you should bet big with your entire range in order to balance.

As played I agree that b/f turn is the best line. JT is by far the most likely hand for him imo, followed by sets. While it's a decent spot for him to bluffraise I think most people are just not going to do it all that often.

Consider that 98 is actually not all that different from AA in this spot except that we have blockers against the 2pairs and sets (actually this can make a significant difference if he has a balanced bluffingrange because by taking out some combinations of the valuepart the range is obv not balanced anymore, but this is more of a theoretical sidenote, most opponents don't even remotely think that far).

If you want to call the turn I think you have to call the river - by calling you mostly represent weak, scared hands that are going to give up to another bet. So call turn, fold river is the worst line imo.
Still, against most opponents call turn & river is -EV as well because they're not bluffing often enough to make the call +EV.
