IMO villain could be any draw. and his check on the flop makes me believe he might not even have a pair. What would you do here.

Would usually play in same way depending of reads. Flop check doesn't usually tell that much from villain hand. He might be looking for check-raise and then just bet turn and river for value.

This is a tricky spot. It might be better to shove preflop, though it clearly is an overplay...
I probably cbet this awful flop, and give up hand if he raises or calls.

why don't we cbet/fold if we are willing to use the same amount of chips for a call on the turn???

we have showdown value and c-betting basicly turns our hand into a bluff

The call on the turn is the difficult decision imo.. but we do get great odds and decent implied odds

there is always a bigger fish

we check behind on the flop to induce villain to bluff the turn with a wider range. thats why we can then call the turn because we are getting more value from a wider range compared to when we cbet.

abt shoving... wouldn't it be the best idea pre if we assume that there's a big chance that BS on SB is gonna defend by flatting? it's 15bb so i don't think its even close to an overshove, especially that JJ is great pre but can lead to pretty difficult spots on many flops (which makes our situation here even worse since we're risk avere against SB so he can pretty easily bully us off the pot postflop). i think i'd open shove it. it may lose some value (compared to raising and playing posflop) but not much i think and its definitelly much easier and safer for us :f_biggrin:

we are losing value open shoving JJ for 15bbs on the BTN. we want them to defend light and stack off with weak hands post-flop. we want them to re-shove light. we have a monster.

this board is about the worst flop you can hope for. dont be results oriented

i guess you're right, i didnt really think it through, obv vast majority of the possible flops would be much better than this one
