I Have been doing alot better recently. Im still in the early stages of learning clearly. However i find that i am playing a wider range of hands.

I only play FR is it okay that i am not sticking to the MSS Chart?

I mean i like the idea of having a 40bb stack so any mistakes I make are not too costly.

But i find myself playing a wider range of hands i.e if the table is looking weak i will open up the pot with KQo K10s A9s

Not always but sometimes.

I also attempt blind steals alot more with close to rags.

Also when i get to flop i have been betting no matter what my hand is to assess where i am. This is not shown in the MSS but i find it very useful. Of course not every flop i handle like this but if i miss flop and suspect my opponents range has also likely missed the flop he will often make a 2/3 pot bet. I will nearly always re raise him to find out where i am.

Is this kind of play ok? i feel it is right im just worried that i am letting my own ignorance dictate my play and if i should be sticking to strategy much sharper.

I mean would i be correct in the assumption that poker is not about what hand you have, but what hand your opponent can call you with?

WoW

I have never tilted as hard as i just did in this session.

I made 2 horrible calls playing my normal 0.02/0.05 games

I was unable to fold my pocket Queens both times vs the same player who beat me in a flop with over cards.

This made me mad i knew i made the mistake and just couldnt let go of them.
The irony is that i had JUST taken that quiz on website that is about QQ and AK and had actually scored a few of the QQ questions wrong.

To quote Morpheus "Fate it seems, is not without a sense of irony"

Rather than just brushing off these mistakes or taking a break if it was going to affect my play i decided i would go play NL25 instead.

I have thought about this before and have never thought it to be a good idea and never followed through.

But i thought if i just buy in for $10 i can afford to lose it all and was simply curious.

So with the attitude of "this is an exsperiement my $10 is already gone" i joined a NL25 table.

I sat there being delt very shitty cards that were not playable for a few orbits. Then i get delt AQs.

Good enough to raise i thought. I raise $1 guy behind me raises $4 and the guy after him calls.

Im beat, I thought and folded my AQs

It was an all in from these 2 short stackers so i saw their cards. One had J10o and the other Q10s.

OMFG i thought wow how can they shove with those marginal hands.

Flop turn and river come with QQ and 55 in them

Guy with Q10s makes his boat, and im left thinking what the fuck i would be splitting that pot if i had some balls.

I wait a while longer making sure not to play hands i wouldnt normally

Cowboys arrive. I knew i was doomed I just knew it but i had to play by the odds. Im on button and 6/9 players call a 75cent raise.

Perfect i thought i can just Call here and see the flop

Flop comes JQ7

Im ahead round of betting occurs and pot is at about £7. All in i thought

I shove my stack and see all but 1 player fold.

He holds J9o

Turn 2
River 9

WOW now i was mad. I was ahead by miles and this guy rivers 2 pair and beats me omfg $10 gone.

So mad was i that i instantly reloaded. $10

Before the blinds got to me i realised this was not a good idea.

What happened next is hazy at best. A demon took hold of me and sent my normal conscious logical self into the reaches of oblivion to watch what was about to happen.

RUSH NL25 MAKE SOME MONEYZ

$10 buy in

I get a hand raise it and we get to flop. Pot is already out of control in this HU its at about $7.

All i have is 1 over card and a gutshot strait draw.

The Demon Shoves.

ONE TIME i shout from the verges of oblivion.

Alas $10 gone.

I am down $21 ish

I immediately join a NL5 RUSH table and blow another 2 buy ins in as many minutes.

I AM DOOMED. The demon leaves me content with the destruction he has caused.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why i will be playing NL2 for the foreseeable future.

BR $21 Damage this session - $35

lmfao down to $15 im such a tool

Thought i was immune to this level of retardation. played 20k odd hands and never messed up this bad. Never dropped more than 7BI's

Down to $15 i am an idiot calling it a day.

A few hard lessons have been taught today. I just hope i learn from them.

No point to post hands that you played terrible because of tilt. If you want to rage a little bit, a simple "omg wtf i was such a douche and called raise with kings in 6way pot, FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" would be enough

Ahh i just like telling little stories. maybe make someone laugh.

Thats why i said all that stuff about the demon etc lol.

if i need to deposit so be it. I will have my 100% bonus first deposit anyways.

I think its just impatience that is to blame here. I want it all too fast and today that reached critical mass. I really am not normally so stupid as to try what i tried i honestly thought i was immune to it. What i didnt factor into my equation at taking a shot at NL25 was how a bad beat would affect me at that level, that's all.

I think im at a point where i am making the correct decisions 90% of the time. And if i just use my brain i can succeed, i know i can.

I didnt play the kings wrong, i believe it was correct to call and see if an ace hit flop. I shoved and was beaten on the river by a hand i had utterly dominated.

No, it was totally bad play. The last thing you want to do when holding a hand like KK or AA is to play in non 3bet multiway pot, doesn't matter which position you are at. And when 6 players are already entered the pot.. Are you kidding me? You need to jam it, here and now (even raising big has no point as you'll be commited anyway, and you don't want that if like 3 or 4 players call after). But I think you know that yourself, but just steaming a bit now :)

Anyways, poker is simple thing, you just need to make correct decisions, and you can do that for a certain amount of time, but it's damn hard to keep your mind sharp at all times. Sometimes you don't even know what's going on, you play terribly, but you don't see that and still think you play your A game, just like you did yesterday when you were crushing the game. Yeah, demons - very good definition I'd say. You gotta fight them if you don't want them to drag you down. If it makes you feel better - you're not alone dealing with this shit, my friend, I have to overcome big psychological problems as well :)

I like to call it the monster personally. Mine is fully housebroken now however :f_biggrin:

Today i was playing some NL5 rush and was at the turn in some random hand.

I had a made hand but was 90% sure it wasnt best. My opponent value bets me, now here is the thing. In NL5 its hard to figure out who is valuebetting and who is trying to get you to fold without risking too much.

I decided to call him down and had put him on the exact hand he had. He won

I was a little disappointed that i wasted like 5BB when i knew i was beat.

Next hand and some other villian makes a value bet. Im on a OESD. I dont usually take my chances with such but i had him on a hand. I just HAD to call him down to see it. Low and behold it was the exact hand i thought. I was anoyed that i had wasted 10BB finding it out when i already knew i was beat though.

Then i am in EP2, EP1 raises me i have JJ
I reraise because he minraised.
All fold back to him.
He shoves $6

I know i have to think about this. AA or KK a very real possibility. But it just didnt add up with a min raise. i mean bet 3BB or limp not a min raise.

I use my time bank and decide to call.

he has K6s

Wow i thought, that was dumb of him.

Flop: xx6
Turn: x
River: K

i retorted horribly. doing what i always do when getting r4ped like that. draging my fingers down my face thinking F*****K

Then a familiar feeling set over me. I was 4BI down for the session and this was the final straw.

I reloaded in anger.

But then was thinking IM GONNA FK'N DO IT, IM GONNA GO BUYIN FOR $10 AT NL25.

I was within millimetres of making the decision to do that. Really close. Was even thinking to play NL25 Rush so that i got a playable hand quicker.

But I had learned my lesson from doing that. I knew that ALL POKER WAS, WAS MAKING THE CORRECT DECISIONS.

To do this and not make money over time is a simple problem. You are not making the correct decisions.

I instead let myself cooldown, found a new NL5 table and made my BI's back playing the right hands, at the right time, Even folding Pocket queens to a small valuebet on a flop of 3KA, Something i would have found very difficult 1 week ago.

So now all damage from my Tilt last week has been repaired. (takes alot longer to fix the damage from tilt, than it does to tilt half your BR away let me tell you)

Anyways im up now and its all good. Because playing poker is easy when you know what the correct decision is and you maintain doing it.
