i was bored last night so thought i would take $10 from my br and see how much i can build it up, finished with a $176 pot on plo last night to finish with $206. 98, was this thread that made me wanna give it a go, before anyone kicks off, there was no brm as it was only a small % of my br so just took shots

One of the most notable changes between these two games is the variance. NLHE players are accustomed to sizable, but not typically dramatic downswings in their regular sessions. Omaha players, on the other hand, will have monster swings on a very consistent basis. This is one of the most immediate turnoffs for new Omaha players. They think that the game is fun and that they are going to kill it after they win a few quick buy ins.
The only problem is that those buy ins will go just as easy as they came. Variance in Omaha is especially wild after you move out of the micro stakes games. The competition is not as tough as it would be in comparable NLHE games, but stronger opponents will always lead to increased variance. If there is one area of the game that you should really brace for, it is most definitely the variance.

varience is starting to punish me im highly contemplating cashing out and moving to a new site+ bonus's, im just getting killed with top set now constantly.cant complain but thats poker. when i get gold status ill contemplate wether to stay on FT or go to a different site

I'm not checking but its roughly over 1K had some bad bad hands and i dropped down limits too so i wont be bursting it up either just trying to work on why i keep 3betting light then calling 4 bets when i have a deeeeep stack its a problem i have

This is imo a pretty terrible play given the stack sizes - if he shoves you have to call with ur 72o. It's a typical reshove push or fold situation (with that hand anyway), unless you have a read that he's gonna give you more credit with a raise, rather than a shove.. Either way I pretty much hate that play

he was blatently just trying to steal the BB blinds i knew he wouldnt call but i was hoping BB wouldn't call but i thought after seeing a raise then a reraise he would fold so i would do it again at the point, and i wasnt playing my cards obviously.

still, but the thing is that if he shoves, you have to call, and you got 72o, so yeah IMO it is a pretty terrible play

You KNEW he wouldn't call? So there's no chance he was doing that with a real hand? Don't take me wrong, I wouldn't hate shoving there, it's a nice aggressive play given it's a late phase of a tourney (but still, it's spewy in most cases with that hand) and I wouldn't hate raise calling either..
In case you were planning to call his shove (which I am not too sure about honestly?) it's ok, but folding there if either BB or the raiser shoves is proper terrible..

its not about the cards i had this guy was trying to steal the blinds of the small stack every time i think he started the final table as half his current stack and made it all from stealing, i just knew in my head that he was stealing and why i bet so much instead of 17k or around.. is because i wanted to look strong so the BB wouldnt call with medium hands, any way the both made quick folds
I just saw this thread. As a 2NL player who only got his starting capital on the 22nd (the day after pogodon's last update), I'm not the least bit rooting for him to go cold and lose the money. In fact, I'm hoping his hot run continues and he ends up playing 1000NL within BR soon. But I do think this is the kind of hype story that poker room PR people and poker TV people would just eat up, so let's just keep it between us, all right?
