Playing some SNG's, running pretty good. I'm moving to a new house between this weekend and next week, so I really won't be playing much poker. The little time I'll be playing will be SNG's, I have till the end of this weekend to clear the Partypoker bonus and only need 50 more SNGs or something like that. Probably won't play any rush for like two weeks. On FT I'll be playing like one set of SNGs a day too, to get the 10 free PS points per day to keep my gold status while I don't play much volume.

Been pretty much messing around with a few SNG's the last few days on Full Tilt. $1 SNGs. Actually running a good ROI. Played 40, with 5 1st, 8 2nd, 10 3rd. 58% ITM, which only accounts to 11% ROI actually, because of the heavy rake and that I'm screwing around a lot. Too lazy to play seriously 3 handed in these tight $1's, so I'm push/folding hu or 3 handed even with 10-15 bb, because I'm lazy to play seriously vs. these fish. Could easily pwn then if I played ie min raising/playing postflop when deep and 3 handed or hu. That accounts for the few 1st place finishes since these fish are playing so tight sh that most of the time they call me they have a pretty good/premium hand.
Might try a more serious run at them when I have more time for poker, I guess I'll do some $2's along with rush when I get back to grinding. Rake is pretty heavy on the $1's.
Just got a boatload of rakeback today, pretty nice. 
Saw 3 of TwiceT's gold hu videos. Wow. Such great stuff. In particular the NL100 matchup, was really a great watch to see two solid players at it hu. Gonna watch the other two tonight probably.
LOL. I just played two hu sng after getting inspired by twicets videos. WOW. WELCOME TO FISHLAND!! In one was facing a complete maniac. In the other, total beginner, NO IDEA about poker. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. I think this guy only had an idea that face cards were high and thats about it. No bet sizing. Fold or push. Was folding 90% of his hands. So I just ate 2/3 of his stacks stealing his blinds raising any two. Then finished him off with AJs, he had pushed K4o. I really couldn't believe my eyes at what I had just seen. 
Just wanted to share this, because I was so proud of the pwnage. Heheh, trying my best to immitate TwiceT 
So the story is, seems I registered by mistake into a sh SNG, only realized when hand 1 popped up and it was 6 handed. I always play full ring. I think sh is -EV on SNG. In FR you can pretty much fold into the money or make the money just winning one hand.
So I was stuck there and decided to tough it out. Turned out to be pure pwnage. 29 hands won / 64 total hands. Beating even a guy that tripled up on hand 1. Below is somewhat of a summary, I wish there were some way to make a fastforward type video of the SNG for any readers of my blog to be proud of such pwnage!! ♠_cool: Actually, wow, was a really tiring enterprise. I've never had to expend so much energy and be so focused on a SNG, since on fr one plays a hand each 10 maybe, in particular in the early stage. So although it seems I could do well on these, I'll pass. I don't think one can really multitable more then 2 or 3 tables having to put so much energy on each table played.
As turns out, we were three handed on hand 2 already!!! 3 way allin on first hand, AK vs. AJ vs 33, 33 hits trips on Ax3 board. So we have one huge stack and two small stacks left, one which will probably unfortunately be out of the money. Which made for a so interesting setup IMO, a short stack mano a mano for a place in the money ♠_biggrin: . I was to the other short stacks right, so I was OOP in sb and in position in bu, but with him on sb. What followed was quite simply ownage. Complete ownage. I decided beforehand my strategy was to raise any two from bu, because I wanted to progressively get some cushion room vs. the other small stack, and cold call with playable hands from the blinds, but mostly fold when OOP. I just completely owned the place. The BB was either passive or scared because I owned the table from hand 2 onwards. Except for one bad cbet I think I played nearly flawless postflop. That was with 55 OOP on a 3 bet pot, board was Jxx and I said, this hits his range so good, but I'm still cbetting - why am I betting if it hits his range? 
. Got shoved. So I wasted not only chips but quite a few chips because I cbet like 2/3 for some reason, when 1/2 or even 1/3 was chasing villain away on a pot that size if he had nothing or was intending to fold not hitting.
To make the victory even sweeter, I had to beat the (ex) big stack twice. I wore him down to where eventually I had 17K chips and he had 3K, and he runner runner straighted a hand where I had mid pair on the flop, then had AK vs. my AQ, and I was suddenly down 3K vs. 17K and then owned him again, to finally beat him. ♠_cool:

So, I got excited by the PLO beginners video and jumped right into some action. LOL. Turns out I'm a huge PLO fish!! 
Actually I was for the first 5 minutes. Losing two stacks in 5 minutes really accelerates the learning process! 
Then I got more careful, started picking my spots better, etc. and made back almost a stack back.
So the conclusion from day 1 was pretty much, try to get involved in unraised pots when on weaker speculative holdings ie Axs+76s. Control the pot when drawing. Don't go allin without the nuts. I think I only raised one hand, AKs+J10s. Play draws aggresively when in position and no one raises. No one pays you if you hit the nuts otherwise. Give up your nut flush/straight on paired board in multiway pot. LOL. I guess none of this is surprising. Typical Omaha newbie thoughts I suppose. 
I did see with good table selection it could be sickly profitable. I had a guy join my NL2 cap table with $30 and he just started going all in or raising every hand. Seems this game attracts many pure gamblers. So it must be good to be a shark. ♠_grin:
Been thinking a bit lately, and I'm going to try some moves when I'm back to playing volume.
Been seeing a ton of videos. Really enjoyed TwiceT's hu videos, also rainmans new stud video, jonathanlittles 3 bet in MTTs video and others. I think I've seen many very high quality videos lately. So congrats to the people making them.
So back to the changes. Firstly, I'm going to change to sh rush. I've pretty much decided I'm fed up with the 24/7 set mining and flush hunting on the fr tables. Just sick of playing vs. zero thought process "didn't hit my set outta here" or "no flush draw outta here" "flush draw on the board - CHASE!!!!" you see virtually every hand in fr.
In the past month or so my love/preference for post flop play has grown and grown. And in two sweats I did on sh (since I was sweating with a sh player I decided to play sh myself to play the same thing), I felt so comfortable, that I think at least a serious shot is in store.
Plus I've been playing some hu sng, and other stuff which has really made me think the big advantage in poker right now is in playing shorter hand versions or hu versions where you can more easily exploit opponents with marginal hand vs. marginal hand, and where some thinking comes into place and an edge in the thought process can create a such larger edge. Whereas in fr it seems there is almost no postflop play. Any dumb fish can setmine and flush hunt all day long and hit quite a few times, with zero superiority in the thinking process, and that really makes me pretty pissed, to not be able to exploit an edge in the thinking process, rather then be constantly subject to all the luck hunting going on in fr.
The second thing I'm doing, which I've been slowly doing for about 2-3 months already is improve my overall skills in all variants. I think I'm a reasonable player in Stud, Stud hi/lo and razz by now, I loved all stud variants since I first played them in freerolls on pokerstars like 2 years ago and always played off an on some microstakes stud game during the past two years.
Now I'll start tackling Omaha hi and then Omaha hi/lo. And after that FL holdem. My goal is to complete my basic set of skills for 7 game, 8 game and HORSE by the end of the year. The goal is to play MTTs of these variants. Based on tournaments I played in the past + motivation from rainmans videos, I think a complete player will have a sick edge in those MTTs, where most players probably only know NLH well and at best NLH and Omaha and very basic stud knowledge. Just from rainmans videos I think one has a basis for a sick edge in all stud variants .. and these were barely his basic videos. Can't imagine how sick an edge on can get with more advanced concepts.
Wow. These hu sngs are just disgusting. Seems almost no one normal plays them. So far been up against maniacs, total no idea newbies, calling stations - or so I thought. Gawd. Awful SNG vs. a calling station just now. But I mean, if you look up calling station in the dictionary this guys picture is there. Never saw something like this in my life. Impossible to put him on a range or a hand. He was limping EVERY hand from bu, and calling EVERY raise I was making, and I open up 90% in hu SNGs. Gawd was such an awful impotent experience. Plus he was calling down all cbets with anything on the board. So you never knew if he had the nuts or bottom pair, so I ended up having to check down turn and river every time I had anything marginal and he called my cbet. Sometimes he had low pair, something mid pair, one time a flush, on another AQ on AKx board. His line of play never varied an inch. Except for one min raise he made from the bu in the whole 100 or so hands we played, I suppose he had AA that time. And anytime he hit ANYTHING from bu we was suddenly a maniac and was donking pot. So it was impossible to know if he had the nuts or bottom pair there too. Was pretty sick. Took me like half an hour to slowly outlast him, since he actually kept hitting some boards well in which I had marginal hands which I value bet with on the flop and checked over turn and river. Was just a horrible, horrible experience. TOTAL WASTE OF FUCKING TIME!! I was just steaming like the last 15 minutes that it was taking so long to knock him out and at the frustration and impossibility of playing any proper form of poker against him. Kinda helped him I never actually got a good starting hand, and when I got AK and didn't hit on a low board he donked out, probably with like bottom pair of twos lol. Really never had faced something like this in my poker career. A player against which you can't get no reads of any type from. ♠_mad: Now actually pretty wary to play more hu sngs, don't want to face this waste of time again. I actually almost decided to sit out at one point and leave. If I ever face a similar opponent I will. Just can't play poker like this. Even if you're going to take the guys money. I mean my time and mental sanity is worth more then what I'd win I think.
Hehe , there are some sort of bad players that really can mindfuck you a lot and the worst part is that they might not even know it ...
Also pretty hard to keep a proper mindset in hu SNG and any sort of HU .

Yippy! Finally back to poker. Kinda sucks to have to move, but for once this is a move I like. Now I'm living next door to my workplace. I think this will be massively +EV for lots of aspects of my life, including poker of course. For starters, I'll have 2 hours more a day to do stuff, that is what I was wasting of my life commuting every day. Which I think really translates to almost 3 more hours, since it's not only the 2 hours it takes to commute, you lose at least 1 hour of productive time because your tired from all the commuting, etc.
So I plan to dedicate at least 1 of those hours to sports every day. I guess I'll alternate 1 day weights 1 day track. And of course for poker this will be great. Since I'll be able to manage my day as I please. This means for example I'll be able to take a 2 hour or so break at noon for example to eat, rest and do stuff like watch a video or coaching each day.
So hopefully all this will lead to improved poker results. I really think that it's impossible to be successful in poker without dedicating 4-6 hours a day at least to poker. I think I'll be able to get a constant minimum 4 hours a day from now on, whereas I was averaging 2-3 hours up to now I think. Which is really too little. I was barely able to see like 1 video, see the forums a bit and play only a little this way.
