lol, i think you're gealous.

Sure he's far from being able to speak for (like) 3 minutes and (like) get everybody (like) pissed of (you know?). Or he's a little far for being socially adapted for this freakin world.
And i can't say he wasn't lucky.

I would punch his mildly retarded face all day long, don't get me wrong. But for me it's great motivation for playing for real, maybe for trying to go pro (which is relatively easy because when i finish uni i could find a job for [like] 350-400 USD).

And i agree about investing. But i would like to know in what you invested until now since you're so revolted on the guy.

I should stop watching these types of videos.. they make me want to drop out of school lol

I watched for precisely 2 minutes and i feel that way.

I keep reading these comments and keep wondering... I really can't believe that people are so blinded by few bottles of expensive champaigne and a bunch of golddigger chicks, that they cannot see the reality behind it:

The video is pathetic... Acne covered 20-something year old bloke with a slighly retarded look who cannot put together a coherent sentence without 3-4 "like"in it. He was in a right place at a right time and got lucky. With his intelligence (or rather lack of it) this lifestyle and this attitude nobody will remember him in 2 years time.

The only thing you should be learning from this video is - "if he can do it, I certainly can". Smartest ones should also add "I wouldn't waste my fortune on booze and chicks, I would make some investments instead, so I have something for times when my luck runs out" :f_cool:

p.s. Oh yeah, and his girlfriend... a model!? :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: A hand model maybe, yes. Go to any Russian city and you can pick a girl two times better looking in any club within half an hour. Russian women are beautiful, his girlfriend is barely good looking.

lol... the ignorance...

Don't feel like replying to the other stuff.. because it's just beyond stupidity... but he's set for live.. no matter how bad he runs he has sponserships that will allow him to live a high lifestyle...
And life is about having fun.. I would rather be rich for 1 day spending on girls and booze.. rather than spending my whole life investing and never enjoy my wealth..

and poker has never been about getting to that lifestyle.. what's addicting about poker is proofing that you can get the best at something.. no one of these dudes quit school to fuck models.. they quit school to proof they could become one of the best in the world...
Desire of money will never result in a good poker player.

+1 to all of this i imagine that knowing you are the best one of the very few best in the world at something is one of the greatest feelings you could get

My only regret is to do not have come close to this game five years ago; it would be make my life a bit easier

SilverSag! Did Robl do something to you in a past life?

Some serious hate goin on there for someone you've never met before lol. The fact that you insult his appearance and girlfriend sorta shows jealousy rather than an opinion on his lifestyle.

Until you post a picture of your hotter girlfriend, i think Robl is doing fine for himself.

Oh, God...

You guys still don't realise that this argument is not about me? It is not even about poor Robl. It's about you who like this video! It's about chosing false values and wrong idols. Somebody said that he gets a lot of this on 2x2 as well... maybe because there are more people with better judgement on those forums? :f_cool:

Few weeks ago there was another video posted here. It's called "I AM NANONOKO". Watch that and you will notice the difference. If you won't... well I can only feel sorry for you. Your lifes won't be easy.

For those, who cannot get me out of the argument I can explain. I am not jealous and I don't envy him. I don't really care, because I have been there and done that. In my early twenties I was making fortune from from BlackJack, I had first BMW 7-series in my country, was giving cars as presents to my girlfriends and sometimes one glass of my drink was worth more than my mom's monthly salary. So what? Money is nothing. By 25 I was pennyless. Then I got rich and was pennyless at 35 then I build my fortunes again and I am pennyless now. So what? Gimme a year or two and I will be rich again.

But you know what? My best relationships with women started when I was pennyless. It's because money, fame, glamour, nothing matters if you are not a nice person. And my life experience tells me that Andrew Robl is not a nice person. Ofc I can be wrong, but I do have twice as much life experience than most of you here, so I do believe that my opinion counts for something.

So, I would just say - pick Nanonoko, Isildur, Ivey, Laak, Helmuth even... ( ok, on a second thought, maybe not him :f_biggrin: ) as your idols. I don't care. I just think that Robl is a wrong one to choose.

/rant over

p.s. Andyuk, I could post a picture of my wife especially for you, but what's the point? She is 35, so for you she would probably qualify as MILF :f_cool: and you can get plenty of those pics over the net :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: :f_biggrin: How would you know it is really mine? :f_cool:

seems like money affects you way to much :f_biggrin:

I would like photos of you balling out of control tho... Sounds interesting... :)

But yea imo I like this dudes approach to live.. he has put it in a nice perspective and like you see in the video he really thinks about the glamorous lifestyle vs a monk lifestyle and understands his lifestyle isn't necessarily better but it represents success in the American society.. which imo shows how mature he is... while most of you seem to think he's immature for that r something..

He also appreciates his friends that he knew before all the success.. and seems to have nice connection with his family.. I mean I ain't gonna judge a man's life by watching a youtube video of him... but I have no clue how anyone can see him as a bad man...

How do you go broke twice without learning your lesson and then you go broke again?

poker is the biggest "pyramid" scam... though it is facinating how easily anyone can move between layers...

Easy :f_biggrin: First time I was doing exactly what Robl is doing now :f_biggrin: Other two times it was variance :f_biggrin:

Which markets were worst hit by recent world crisis? - real estate
Which country was worst hit by crisis? - Latvia

Well, I happened to be working with real estate in Latvia :f_biggrin: Double downswing :f_biggrin:

Either you can't read or you are deliberately quoting only the parts that suit you... not nice... I was at least being fair... :f_frown:

Sure I'm a little jealous of his luck when it comes to making it as big as he did. I haven't been too impressed with his play when I've seen him but again it's not a lot. Looking at players like Zugwat and Raptor(?) - they were badly beating the game a few years ago and now "came to their senses" and went back to University.

Like Zugwat himself said - "when Poker's the only thing in your life, you need to be winning to be happy - and you simply can't control that". Or something along those lines.

I think Robl should learn how to spend money more wisely. I really enjoyed Barry Greenstein's book regarding his experiences when losing...

A sensible reply at last... what book was that?

I'm still trying to fathom the hate. Whilst it's true there was a pot-pourri of douchery in that video, Robl could only be guilty of about 10% of it.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the state of Galfond's desk, and its implication. Either he doesn't care what the viewer thinks or he doesn't give us credit for logical thought. The desk contained a mound of tissues, next to a PC screen in a poorly lit room. Hmmmm... If we needed an extra clue, those empty bottles of water show that he needs a lot of rehydration whilst "playing". Or maybe he had a cold?

I just ran it through equilab, and it came up with this:

       Equity     Win     Tie
COLD     5.00%  3%   0%
DIRTY BOY  95.00%  97%  0%
