April review

So I moved to cashgames on fulltilt. graphs:

NL25:

NL50:

So according to these graphs I should be breakeven. I'm not sure what went wrong there because I infact have ~700$ profit. Maybe HEM missed a lot of hands?

+ 400$ from the first deposit bonus.

grand total to ~1100 $ profit.

Whats even more important is that I learned a lot about cashgames. I installed a HUD yesterday, it still needs some finetuning though (more about that some other time).

All in all April was a great month, poker-wise and real life wise. I had a blast, had my second smoke-free month, got in the best shape of my life and enjoyed the spring

edit: in the category "awesome electro / house classics":

Man I have had some good times grooving it to this song, it's a real party classic

I did a sweat session with HahaUNaab 2 days ago. I'm glad he sweated me. I think he has a lot more CG experience. He pointed out spots where I spew of too much. A couple of moments like:

Haha: "yeah I'm always folding here"
viewer: "Dunno he might have Kings or even pure air... "
viewer calls
viewer gets stacked by regfish with set :(

I'm not so good at sweatsessions, I think I'm bad at vocalising my thought proces. I play too intuitive sometimes, which is bad if you're playing against robots
Talking about my decisions and putting my thoughts into words really helps for some reason. The sweat session helped me a lot.

Today I played ~2 hours on NL50 rush. Ran decently and made a couple of big plays. Most worked, some didn't.

A herocall hand:

UTG ($67.40)
UTG+1 ($56.35)
Hero (MP1) ($51)
MP2 ($56.20)
MP3 ($92.65)
CO ($102.50)
Button ($23.05)
SB ($128.20)
BB ($32.65)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 2, 2
2 folds, Hero bets $1.50, 3 folds, Button calls $1.50, 2 folds

Flop: ($3.75) 6, 10, 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $2, Button calls $2

Turn: ($7.75) K (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks

River: ($7.75) K (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $6, Hero calls $6

Total pot: $19.75

Results:
Button had J, Q (one pair, Kings).
Hero had 2, 2 (two pair, Kings and twos).
Outcome: Hero won $18.80

Maybe this is standard for you CG experts but I was really happy after showdown (I am no stranger to the fistpump).

And I would like to leave you all with this gem:

Starting today I have 21 days to clear 500$ bonus... Challenge accepted Full Tilt!

Too bad that I have a German exam tomorow or I would get started on it right away
My classmates have made a bet: everyone who can work in "nein mann ich will noch nicht gehen" gets a beer. Challenge accepted!

I'm getting fed up with the NIT factor in FR Rush. Somehow it's just not my style to fold QQ preflop.. I'm a fish like that
It's hard to adjust to the extreme nittyness.. you can't even bluff a lot of these guys because it seems they only play the top 3% of their hands. Bunch of evil soulless nazi zombies imo...

Gonna mix it up a little with some 6max and maybe a little HU (not sure what the lowest limit is on FT).

Cleared 72$ of the 500$ bonus so far, running way behind schedule. Technicaly that's not true because I never made a schedule. Anyway I won't get to clear all of it but that's okay.

Saw you at the tables btw. :)

Yeah I played some hands HU and lost 2 stacks.. I'm just gonna call it a day

Emanuel I'm not sure about your username, I think I found you in my HEM database. Did I win a decent pot against you on 9796A board? (and if yes did u have a flush? )

Don't play HU if you didn't learn anything about it and try to avoid regs, although that's fucking hard!

Yeah, you won there. And no, I didn't have a flush.

I've played a decentish amount of HU on various Ipoker skins. Always against fish or really weak regs though. I'm gonna back away from the full tilt regs because they own my soul . Kinda sucks that NL50 is the lowest limit to play HU, I remember NL2 HU tables on Ipoker (not anymore now, I think NL20 is currently lowest in IPoker).

Headsup is imo the coolest form of poker, next to deepstacked slow tournaments. I'd love to get good at it, I think if you're a top HU played you can beat almost any kind of cashgame.

disclaimer: advance warning: boring post ahead.

This is an awesome song to play at the end of a party. A song to completely relax and let it flow.. . I can't explain it, just listen

I've been in a mini-rut past 3-4 days. Maybe it's because I wasn't productive and slacked of too much.. it's weird because I'm usualy great at doing nothing _confused:

I'm getting a little nervous about my upcoming exams. That is a good sign. I need a healthy stress level to function properly
This time I'm gonna do it right: Start way in advance! Maybe a little late because my exams start in one month already..... Then again I never really started studying one month in advance. If I start now I'll be more prepared then ever!

I'm gonna plow through all the study material and make sure I understand everything. I have a lot of applied science classes like mechanics, applied mechanics, electronics, ... it's all doable and not super-complicated but I have to work my way through the material a few times before I can really "play" with it. Skipping 90% of the lectures doesn't help either.

In other news: I have decided to run a marathon in 2012! I'm running like 7-8 km now so I have my work cut out for me (marathon in 42 km). Maybe I'll run the half-marathon in Brussels in october this year to get a feel for it. Running a marathon is completely insane. I think it might be exactly what I need.

In the last two months (since I stopped smoking) I have kicked it up a notch sport-wise (running and swimming mostly). I'm in the best shape ever and still improving. It has a huge impact on my life. I feel stronger, not only physicaly, but emotionaly and mentaly. My whole life-approach is shifting, I'm setting goals for myself, blazing a lot less, getting more confident in my own opinions, ..
Somehow it feels like I've changed as a person. My friends notice it aswell. Some are a little freaked out by it :tongue: luckily I don't really care;

I'm 22 years old. Most of my friends are graduating or already have a job. Some even bought a house. Let me tell you, I don't feel ready for anything like that at all. Luckily I have 2 years of studying to go before I have to wory about what comes next
Some of my friends have kids of their own! Man that just sounds like a fucking nightmare to me.. I get a tight feeling around the chest when I think about it. Then again a guy I know turned 30 last week. He doesn't have a gf and still lives with his parents.. I dont wonna turn out like that either because it's a little sad in a way imo. Is setling down with a girl, getting a house/apartment, having kids, .. really the only way to live your life? The future holds promise but it is also confusing and scary to think about.

Maybe it's best to stop reading this blog. It's turning into a diary and I'm turning into a fucking chick. For me it's nice to write this stuff down every once in a while, it's propably boring as fuck and hard to read for everyone else. I'll try to include poker content and, more importantly, threadseavers in the feature. Yes that means hot girls :f_biggrin:

Can I offer a minute of awesome: this is the sound god makes when he cries

Some hands from yesterday (NL 50 RUSH poker):

Villains in this hand are unknown. I was suspicious but couldent fold it vs unknown..

UTG ($70.80)
UTG+1 ($58.80)
MP1 ($20)
MP2 ($63.05)
MP3 ($34.45)
CO ($50)
Hero (Button) ($56.25)
SB ($25.40)
BB ($60.40)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, K
2 folds, MP1 bets $1.50, 1 fold, MP3 raises $4.50, 1 fold, Hero calls $4.50, 3 folds

Flop: ($11.25) A, J, 6 (2 players)
MP3 bets $6.50, Hero calls $6.50

Turn: ($24.25) 2 (2 players)
MP3 bets $23.45 (All-In), Hero calls $23.45

River: ($71.15) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $71.15

Results:
Hero had A, K (one pair, Aces).
MP3 had 2, 2 (three of a kind, twos).
Outcome: MP3 won $68.15

OK so this hand I love; I had ~100 hands on this guy. He has 4% PFR from EP and weakish postflop stats. Once he cbet the flop I just knew 100% sure he had QQ+ or maybe JJ+ and just wondered how big of a mistake I can get him to make on this board

UTG ($114.35)
UTG+1 ($221.85)
MP1 ($83.85)
MP2 ($55.30)
MP3 ($20)
CO ($18)
Button ($56.15)
Hero (SB) ($56.25)
BB ($37.40)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7, 9
UTG bets $1.75, 2 folds, MP2 calls $1.75, 1 fold, CO calls $1.75, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($7.50) 9, 6, 9 (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $5, 2 folds, Hero raises $54.50 (All-In), UTG calls $49.50

Turn: ($116.50) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($116.50) Q (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $116.50

Results:
Hero had 7, 9 (three of a kind, nines).
UTG had Q, Q (full house, Queens over nines).
Outcome: UTG won $113.50

And here is something to think about. Mind = blown

Dropping in for some spam. Warning: low poker content.

I've had a great summer soo far. Went on a 2 week camping trip with my youth organisation (KSJ) (think souting-esque but with heavy drinking at night :f_biggrin: ) and it was (like always) my highlight of the year.

I'm focusing on my august/september exams now. Pretty hard thing to do because I'm feeling really romantic about this girl.. haven't kissed her yet but I'm pretty sure it will happen this weekend :f_love:

Almost my entire bankroll is on Full Tilt. I have like 200-300$ left on some Ipoker skins but I'm not gonna start grinding with those.. god I hope I get my fulltilt bankroll back soon. And FullTilt aswell. I  me some Rush Poker.

Allow me to leave you with this massive house track. It's pretty long so you might want to open it in another tab. I go crazy for the part around 4:02. Enjoy!

Hey guys! (I hope someone still reads this..)
Haven't been using the forums for a while now.

I didn't play a lot of poker during the last year. Most of my roll is parked (?) on Full Tilt. Moved my remaining bankroll to an Ipoker skin where I'm playing SNG's for the moment.

I came here looking for news on Full Tilt. I read a couple of months ago that pokerstars might be buying FT.. is that deal still alive?

well, you probably are already aware of everything that i'm going to say but whatever:

- no recent news (~for like 1.5 months i think) on ps-ftp or whatever-ftp deal
- pokerstars has zoom poker which is their version of rush. it's pretty cool

Tnx guys!

I dont have plans to start grinding zoom no.. the pokerstars rakeback system is bad for a low-volume player like myself and I'm not even rolled to start grinding NL25.

Furthermore I'm not sure if I can even play zoom with the new pokerstars.be.

LgWz you still grinding the sng's?

I have my bankroll back! I am one happy camper right now!

Allow me to give you some eargasms:

Recently I found out that my little country is not perfect after all: FullTilt poker is not accessible for belgian players. Luckily I could move my bankroll to Pokerstars without any problem.

I had about 2200$ left in the Fulltilt freezer. It stayed nice and fresh there. I had to withdraw 1500$ imediatly to solve my growing monetary problems. I can finaly buy my books for school now haha! :f_grin:

I plan to give Zoom on pokerstars a try. NL10 and NL20 for now 'till I bankroll is back upto snuff. This blog shall be used for results and spam.

Cheers!

Yeah it's terrible! Although NL10 is still fishy :)
I liked levelling regulars on NL50 at fulltilt before black friday. Now I'm back at setmining fish, it's a big difference but it aint bad eather tbh.

I'm a little stuck at NL10 for now, my bankroll is approx ~$750. I don't think moving up (or taking shots) at NL25 would be terrible. I just wonna make sure first that I have not turned into a complete lunatic and get used to the software again. Getting used to the software should not be hard on pokerstars though

Too bad the rakeback/bonus system on pokerstars is baaaaaad for low limit/ low volume players like me. I'm hoping some juicy bonusses are gonna come along soon (maybe there's a christmas / NY bonus in the pipeline?)

I don't have a lot of poker news so I hope I can brighten your day with this joyfull song. If you want to get skilled at dancing like a monkey running on coals this is a good song to practice.
