But what did your family/non-playing poker friends think when you went pro. Did you tell them all?

i told them pretty early. in my 2nd month or so. when i was already making some small profits. i only told my close friends and family. didnt talk all that much about it, just said im good enough to make some $.

after i bought my 911 some months later they started being more interested and i explained some stuff

also with any form of income that ppl are not used to (e.g. trading), i think its best not to mention too much. when they see u turn profits over and over again and love what u are doing, they will start questions and be interested in that story. dont try to convince ppl that its soooo cool what u are doing. just dont mention a lot. sooner or later ppl wanna know more anyway

What did you do to get the solid mindset u have nowadays?

for most plrs. probably true.

thats the secret of succes in poker. play your best when u are running cold. thats the biggest edge u can get vs your opponents

read the basic stuff (poker mindset, tommy angelo stuff) and then be self critical all the time and question everything all the time

its a process, u dont klick a button and get perfect poker mindset

Anyway,a couple of questions :

1. What do you think about yoga ? I just saw somnius's latest vid and he says it's great ..have u ever considered doing yoga?

2. Did u read any book on self-improvement and stuff like that? I know you are a big fan of TED so that's why i'm asking...i just finished the 7 habits of highly effective people and it's great.

3. When will u ship some big moneyz from trading? :f_biggrin: Also..how similar is trading to poker and do you think u can make some ok money with let's say 10k euros ( like a profit of 500e/month ) or do you need much more?

Btw,i will contact u one of these days on skype to book a coaching if u still accept new students .

so far never tried yoga. but i guess it cant be bad.
i rather pwn a friend in tennis or kick some balls @ driving range 250m
or dance like crazy @ dancefloor muhahaa :f_biggrin:

true, im a big ted fan. i didnt rly read much on self-improvement. i read a bit about 80-20 principle (pareto). as i think its great if u are interested in self/time management

plan is to be on same level money wise summer 2013 with trading as i am now with poker. no idea if that goal is too ambitious, but we'll see ;)

5% on your account is def possible yeah. but like always, it depends on how much u are willing to invest. it wont be easy.

@ coaching: probably wont do any more before vegas. but u can contact me any time in skype ;)

As usual great input from your side. I have some questions for you regarding long term 1 to 1 coaching:

#1 What is, in your opinion the best frequency, for coaching sessions? once a week, twice a week? (forget about the money aspect, just the optimum regarding how much info the student can process)

#2 One of the common topic, I suppose, is how to play in different positions... Do you go through every single position with your student or the most important ones (SB,BB,BU)?

#3 What do you expect from your student in between sessions?

#4 How do you/the student prepare a coaching session?
I guess if it is hand review session it is quite straightforward
If it is some concepts do you ask the student to do some preparation work?

#5 How (if at all) do you interact with your student between the sessions?

Thanks again

rly rly depends.
if u have a day job and family and poker is a side hobby, i think twice a month is a good frequency as u have time enough between the sessions to get some sample, try out new stuff, reflect on your game, analyse yourself, watch vids etc etc

i also had some who said "i have 2 weeks holiday, i wanna invest 14 hours a day in poker and improve as fast as possible. i wanna coachings every 2nd day"

it rly depends. overall its important u prepare coachings well (mark hands, record vids, prepare questions) and analyze coachings afterwards. many students record the coaching sessions so they can re-watch it and listen to it again. as im usually talking a lot, its a bit of an info-overflow for the most, so listening again is def a good idea.

also sweat sessions in between coachings with other plrs are good

also, i always say u should get a variety of coaches. some like my approach more, some others more. usually u get a bigger variety of ideas when u get different coaches.

there is usually a lot of interaction before and after coachings. many of my students i also invite to TTT (skype channel) where they can discuss stuff, find sweat partners, ask me from time to time or just flame around like mammuth all day long :f_biggrin:

Hey Mr TwiceT-I was watching your PLO HU video series w suitedeule recently(I never played plo HU)-great series and rly entertaining, I loved it! The thing I would like to ask-in 1 of the matches you turn a set into a bluff on the river and also say that its not good to be turning the top of your range into a bluff in NLHE but its ok and good in PLO. What is the reason for this?

haha yeah! i dont remember the hand ... did it work? :f_p:

if u turn top of your range into a bluff in holdem, its usually a pretty good hand. so u want to make your opponent fold an even better one ... i think in nlhe hu ppl just dont like folding hands that are better than top of your range in most scenarios. so they bluff - very generally speaking - wont work often enough and when u have top of your range, u usually have decent sd value anyway.

in plo, u can rep way more stuff and u can use every fkn scare card to make your opponent fold a rly strong hand. so even if the line u took looks weak, and u are top of your range (bottom set, top2) and good cards hit, u can still bluff him off better hands (top set, low straight etc)

The thing is that top of ur range doesnt have to be top of ur percieved range (if it is then u r screwed)
so for example top of ur range may be TPWK but ur percieved range might be stronger -> u can make him fold , easy game?

Hmmm... consider my interest piqued. What is this TED malarkey? And what complementary books do you recommend to the Pareto Principle?

i did only read one book on pareto a long time ago. it was german though, dont remember it now.

but pareto efficiency and principle is discussed in many business and finance books all over.

just search for pareto efficiency on the net - im sure u will find loads of info ;)
