Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $4(BB) Replayer
Hero ($400)
BB ($451)
UTG ($439)
CO ($320)
BTN ($463)

Dealt to Hero Q♦ A♦

fold, CO raises to $8, BTN raises to $32, Hero calls $30, fold, fold

FLOP ($76) 7♦ A♠ 2♥

Hero checks, BTN bets $40, Hero raises to $88, BTN raises to $164, Hero raises to $368 (AI), BTN calls $204

Spoiler

CO is 58/21 over 50 hands. BU will be isolating for value but his value range will be wider than usual. 88+ AT+ KJ+ JTs+. Since he folds a lot to 3bets i decided to overcall AQs. I think he will be betting this Flop with almost his whole range. Maybe he checks back 88-KK.
How do we get the most value in this spot vs. his air range? C/r looks more bluffy. C/c looks like we have a hand. Thoughts?

well if Bu really sucks, ur call is fine but playing oop vs such a range is never too good of an idea with AQ

for the flop, id go with c/c 3 barrel because u rep with ur call pf smth like TT+, AQ,AK so when u raise this flop, if he thinks about, u have no air in ur range so he will only continue with AK,AA.

By c/c, u can make him 3 barrel bluff because ur range looks so much like TT-KK ( not many ppl call AQ in that position and some 4b AK even though calling AK is definitely better in my opinion there because of the fish)

um but his m4bet looks really weird, i guess BU is a bad reg because he should be calling there with AA,AK to keep u bluffing but well, id be folding anyway

If you were BU would you 3 barrel bluff this board? I think w/o history TT-QQ is folding on the Turn very often.
I think his min3bet on the Flop is a leveling thing. Since i cant rep anything by c/r this flop he min3bets to represent Bluffs as well, inducing me to shove my c/r bluffs.

How can he bluff here when you shove vs. his 3b? It's rare to see bluffcalls.

Since there are no semibluffs combos in my range i would have to be shoving total air over his 3bet. I think it rarely happens, so he should be able to 3betbluff the Flop.

You could possibly have 54/43 here as a semibluff but it's unlikely. But if he's got air here, you don't make any money vs. that part of his range by shoving over his 3b... Unless he bluffcalls, which is rather unlikely.

I disagree we can have 43/54 here as we cold called 3bet pre oop.

c/c on F unless u have a maniacish image; u rep superstrong + dont defend ur c/c range in these spots.

hi farbenstaedter,

What is WTSD of your villain? What is his aggression? If he's a good regular, what do you think of 4bet/call (ie. do you expect him to repop w/AJ/Axs/22 sometimes?what is his BTN 3bet%?)

F raise is not good vs a regular here, because you're isolating yourself against hands you have 3 or nearly no outs against. You could potentially raise vs a maniac but it is not a good vs this player. Still, I think villains BTN 3bet% may be
wide. Still, the sizing is pretty scary.

If you call there, you must go for value obv, but calling is the best option.

Guys, what do you think about 4bet/calling here?

I'm often folding here vs very good regulars- still this sizing (4x) isn't popular from BTN, I guess.

Cheers,
Michal

I only do this against people who 3bet a lot on the BTN and can shove 66-88 for instance, like Dimadu, chojjasd if he's playing aggresively and so on. Without much idea, I don't like it unless he folds a lot to 4bet (and I guess once we 4bet we can not fold but still would be worth it to calculate if it's more EV to 4bet/fold or 4b/call).
