Dunno if this idea was discussed/proposed etc. But here u go:
as lot of ppl may watch older videos, read older artciles, they get questions. But the comments section is active just for a short time after the video/article is posted. So my suggestion is that every video/article gets its own forum thread, so things can be still discussed quite some time after material gets available.

I kind of like your idea 
but I don't think we need it for every video or article
I would just handle it this way:
whenever you feel like discussing an older video or article, feel free to open a thread in the Education Feedback Forum about it
