Have to take some program like teamviewer, skype?

Hi,

in our coaching player we have a chatfunction and you can here the coaches voice
you can simply start the player at this page

to follow the action you most of the times need to open the poker sites yourself
some coaches use streaming tools to make it easier for you, but we had problems with users trying to abuse it and win money from the coach knowing his cards :( so this is not a default option

while waiting for the next coaching you can (and should) check out our video section
or the strategy and handevaluation boards (linked in my signature)

Cheers,

Pascal

I am looking forward to your presence Wilhirth

I am playing on Full Tilt Poker so make sure you have that software installed. With the ctrl+f feature in that client you can find me quickly and easily as I will display the tables I am playing on :)

Hello!

I will be moving out of my apartment in Denmark on this Sunday. That means it is really high variance and therefore not responsible from my part to continue the coaching coming sunday.

I propose that we do this coaching the days after as a catch-up, I will email the relevant persons

Im sorry for the inconvenience
Best regards,
Gerv

Sunday's 10th of July session

It was a bit chaotic but nevertheless we put some hands in. Unfortunately we ended up in the red numbers but the plays were fine so standard variance:

Hand of the day:
No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

BB ($8.15)
UTG ($4.85)
MP ($4)
Gerv (Button) ($4.02)
SB ($3.70)

Preflop: Gerv is Button with 7♣, T♦
1 fold, MP (poster) checks, Gerv bets $0.37, 2 folds, MP (poster) calls $0.27

Flop: ($0.89) 7♥, 4♠, T♠ (2 players)
MP checks, Gerv bets $0.60, MP raises $1.20, Gerv raises $3.05 (All-In), MP calls $2.43 (All-In)

Turn: ($8.15) J♣ (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($8.15) 2♥ (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $8.15
Main pot: $8.15 between MP and Gerv, won by MP

Results below:
Gerv had 7♣, T♦ (two pair, tens and sevens).
MP had 8♠, 9♦ (straight, Jack high).
Outcome: MP won $7.75

The blinds were pretty tight and since CO's range is bottom 98%, we have ourselves an easy steal situation of 2.5bb. So we raise it up preflop. We get called by CO which is not a disaster since we still can hit but also can cBet as bluff.

We hit 2pair and we Cbet/valuebet accordingly. Since we get check/raised, I do not think either calling or folding yields the maximum profit so we shove instead. We get happily called by 98 and unluckily he hits his straight:

Board: 7♥4♠T♠
       Equity     Win     Tie
Gerv    67.80%  67.80%   0.00% { Td7c }
MP3    32.20%  32.20%   0.00% { 9d8s }

See you next week!

Hey guys!

From Sunday morning onwards, I will be on a roadtrip! That means unfortunately that I will not be able to do the MSS coaching for 3 weeks straight. One can call this a little holiday :)

Nevertheless I hope you have a nice vacation and a strong MSS poker period!

Best regards,
Gerv

21st of August Coaching Review

Hey guys, I will write a weekly review with the corresponding graph and post an interesting hand after every coaching. Furthermore if I remember any interesting questions I will post them here as well :)

21st of August was also a date when I returned from my holiday so I was fresh and very motivated to coach the MSS again.

So first the results:

We made 7 stacks in total. Our NonSD winnings were positive due all the stealing & cBet success rate we got.

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (7 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

UTG ($5.41)
MP1 ($4.19)
MP2 ($10.16)
CO ($6.01)
Gerv (Button) ($5.19)
SB ($9.77)
BB ($4)

Preflop: Gerv is Button with J♦, K♠
UTG calls $0.10, 3 folds, Gerv bets $0.45, 1 fold, BB calls $0.35, 1 fold

Flop: ($1.05) J♥, 7♠, 9♥ (2 players)
BB bets $0.60, Gerv raises $4.74 (All-In), BB calls $2.95 (All-In)

Turn: ($8.15) 5♣ (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($8.15) 6♠ (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $8.15

Results:

Spoiler

Gerv had J♦, K♠ (one pair, Jacks).
BB had J♣, T♥ (one pair, Jacks).
Outcome: Gerv won $8.94

According to the RoL article + general handstrength logic, we isolate the weak UTG limp with KJo. However we get a coldcall from BB.

We face a drawheavy flop in which we should prepare ourselves to cBet around $0.85 instead of the regular $0.65

However BB leads into us here. I believe strong hands like 2pairs+ will check/raise us so his range for me looks capped in the sense of Toppairs, pair+draw. Against that we are ahead so we want to raise since a call can kill our action in both ways

Now BB's stack is $3.55 to start with. If we raise to $1.8, it is approx 50% of his stack + we give him the odds to suck out on us.

Anything smaller is not done and anything bigger leaves a ministack on the TUrn if he calls. The thing is if we raise to such a sizing and hope he shoves it in himself, there are chances he will just call. We do not want that

That is why I shove here

Another great coaching by gerv tonight.

I would like to see this coaching extended to atleast 1h30min, or have a seperate coaching (by gerv) for silver members so we can get 2 coachings a week for MSS.

Looking forward to next parts of your MSS quiz series aswell.

Thanks guys :)!

Next time we will use join.me

!! Warning

Due the World Championship qualifiers on PokerHeaven, the coaching is moved earlier at 15:00 CET Berlin/Amsterdam time for once. I am playing in this qualifier as well

You can find more info here
http://www.pokerstrategy.com/coaching/157518/

Since we probably will use Join.me, having PartyPoker isn't required

Furthermore I will start off with $50 (I had to deposit $100 for the reload bonus) so we can see this as a weekly bankrollbuilding coaching for MSS!

Thanks all !
