SnG inspiration.
Just a smallish note to self really.
Playing well, getting my chips in good on the most part, sometimes I make a bad read but don't feel bad about it.
Suffering with variance at the HU stage quite a bit. AA < JJ early doors and other strange sequences but, like I say, getting my chips in good.
Current BR is $65.51 which is about 1BI down from last week. So can't complain really, I actually peaked at $74 so I guess it's 2 and a bit BI.
Learning how to multi 4 tables, so it's all great practice and if I get a decent BR from my practicing, then it's a winner situation...I can start to grind and secure profits and better statuses at Pokerstars and Poker Strategy alike.
Burg and me are dreaming of higher stakes. Can't imagine there is much difference between stakes and skill, except there probably aren't any fish at the $30 BI...but then again, there are fish everywhere.
Small update on self.
Have decided that since the profitable Full Tilt closed down, Poker is no longer a sensible approach to life for me right now. I'll still play recreationally of course, poker is a hobby I enjoy very much and running deep in MTT's is a thrill I don't think I can replace easily.
So I'll make the odd deposit at Pokerstars (have withdrawn the profits I made to fund sports clothing) and 888 to play for fun.
I'm still applying to college or open university in the hope I'll finally secure a place after 18-24 months of frustration. Have dreamed of furthering my education for about 6 years now, first 4 years I picked up the odd qualification but the past 2 years have been a little bit of a nightmare.
Poker is a sort of education in itself, so it's not like I'm withdrawing from it completely. I have the ICM trainer to play around with, lots of articles to read and plenty of books to lose myself in. I have a lot of time on my hands so it's a time well spent, you never know, I could actually win one of these. I feel I carry an edge most of the time and rarely end up on a table where I don't think I can read my opponents game and capitilise on their errors and wide ranges.
Only variance will prevent this, so here's to lady variance leaving me alone in the next one and hopefully me shipping it.
Pokerstars has plenty of these to take advantage of, and 888 is a very weak MTT pool, so will take advantage of that.
Having a small break because STT's have frazzled my brain slightly.
Good luck to anybody reading this, and speak to you soon Burg!
