Hello All,

I have the same problem, froozen account.
They (POKERSTARS) want me to send the info, the same they askin from u.
I say, this is DANGEROUS STUFF.
Therefore i cannot believe that Bart, the moderator in here, tries to get u a good feeling in this.
When u send ur signature etc. u will give them the opportunity to do the same as the real criminal does, only much better.
U give them the oppurtunity and i mean anyone who will accept ur info at their office to sell this information to a 3rd party of worse , use it for their selves.
Its BLACKMAIL, simply as that.
To accept that u buy ur chips to play and then freeze ur account, come on.
If they realy want to help their and ur security they should ask ur credentials before u use ur creditcard,
So therefor to any one it concerns, ban pokerstars, until they change their terms.
Visa card has their own security check(its new for a half a year now)

This is the mail i send to them.

--Guess we have a problem here--.
It been some time i played on Pokerstars, but thats has its reasons,
rebuilding a house for example..I thought yesterday lets get it on again,
but surprising, my account got frozen.
AFTER BYIN SOME CHIPS???
OK that there is some security, fine , but people warning after they login
and byin chips , then freeze their account, unbelievable.
Glad that i asked a small amount , 100 euro, but even though, .
The "funny" thing abouth this is, that u ask me to send u a photocopy of my passport and my creditcard account ,HELLOOO, what abouth mine security?
U allready got mine creditcard numbers and now u want the most important thing too on paper or mail/fax?.

I called Visa, Netherlands, they surely not happy with the way u act on
"this problem", they are waiting on my and the call of other people, what
the following steps are after i send this mail to u.
They told me that there are other people, who had the same problems with this,
The problem with pokerstars is new for them.
Got some respons on the web and slowly but steady growing by the hour people
who have the same problem with pokerstars.
Called my lawyers firm, askin how abouth this "terms of service" Pokerstar
thing..
They couldnt tell yet abouth what it will do in North America, but here in
Europe, u have a problem askin/demanding people to send their personal
information in combination with there creditcard.
Hopefully , we can solve this issue.
Like i said, loved to play Pokerstars over the years, ,lost a lot of money,
but what the heck , kept tryin, its just a game, but now ..i m very
angry......

Hope to hear from u

If u know any people wh have the same problem, let them know that they expose themselfs for disaster.

All over the world they warn u , to be very discret with ur personal info.
Especialy photocopy 's pasports and signature.

Sorry for my English

Take care and have some luck out there on the tables

Hey guys,

just use moneybookers (i guess netteller is similar) i successfully withdrew money from almost every network out there (i done some bonus whoring) and not a single one asked for any proof of identity. It includes Everest, Pokerstars, Entraction, Microgaming, Ipoker...
I verified my account with moneybookers.com though but it is just one verification (btw it is lot cheaper and safer then using CC's)

Hello Beturassic,

I've deleted your thread as you made the exact same post in this one. No need for it to be in two places at once. I've forwarded this to my fellow moderators who will hopefully be of more assistance than I am at the moment. The only thing I can say is that it's pretty normal Pokerstars freeze accounts they think are a security threat to their room and costumers. Pokerstars have clauses in their Terms & Conditions that allow them to investigate where ever they think it's worth investigating.

Pokerstars will never ever sell your personal information to a third party, in fact, I'm pretty sure (head admin should be able to clear this out as I'm not sure) all the documents you send are deleted after the investigation is done. I can only suggest you comply with the things they ask so you can start playing with the money you deposited.

All the best,

NIVEKii

Edit:

*From the Terms Of Service on Pokerstars.be*

10.7. PokerStars reserves the right to run credit and/or identity checks on a User, with third party credit reference agencies or services, using the information provided to us by a User on registration with the Service. The third party credit reference agencies or services may retain a record of the information but they will not use the information for any other purpose.

You can also take a look at their Privacy Policy.

@Beturassic
Don't know about visa and all.
But if you're concern about your id & signature. You can black them out.
I even black my picture out.

Hi Guys,

Just to confirm, that ID checks are pretty normal/standard in any poker rooms. Verification processes are not so much fun thing but the initial purpose is to protect your account.

Let me know if any probs
Ingrid
