All of the tables at $0.01/0.02 on Pokerstars allow you to buy up to 250BB, some of the articles say you should always buy in with the maximum amount, but I think that most of these assume that the maximum amount is 100BB. Should I buy in with the 100BB which I assume that the BSS is designed for, or for the maximum amount of 250BB?

as you're probably a begining player i'd say 100, if you play with 250 bbs effective the game changes a lot due to implied odds.
Depends on your BR aswell, if your playing with 50 you wouldnt really want to lose 5 of that in a single pot, would you?
I don't think you even read what I asked for Maniatrix, however thanks for the other answers, I think I shall stick with 100BB.
