Hi guy(s)!
I'm gonna start with a brief description of my plans for the next little while.
At the moment I'm in townsville trying to save up some money cos on October 13th I'm heading to Vegas for the first time, probably for a week or so before heading south and spending a 3-6 months in Mexico mostly sailing on a little yacht my friend has bought, she's more of a friend of my ex-girlfriend though i've actually only spent maybe a total of 7 days with her before so hopefully it's all good.
After that I think I'll probably spend the next little while (1 month to 3 months I guess) in south america seeing some stuff, dunno what stuff, dunno where but I'm sure it'll be pretty sweet.
So yeah at the moment I'm working weekends to save money and playing poker during the weeks losing it (at least that's what it feels like at the moment) and not too much else.
Anyway the compulsory graphs and goals now:
I decided to play some sngs on ipoker cos I made a couple of grand pretty quick about a year ago doing it, I deposited $500 that came with a $1000 FDB. It took me a whlie to convert back from the MTT play but I think I'm playing quite well now, just running bad still.
This is my attempt so far, i think the average BI is about $12:
July on stars was actually pretty good, unfortunately I had to give away half of this, it's MTTs:
Goals? Yes!
[ ] Clear out my marked hands at least once a week
[ ] Spanish study 2 hours a day
[ ] Try not to moan about work unless it's especially shit
[ ] Get some new music
[ ] 600 games
[ ] take notes on the spazz callers that badify my shoves and work on ICM vs different opponent types
[ ] STOP RUNNING BAD AND MAKE HEAPS OF MONEY!
Well I've given up on Poker770, it's obviously rigged (i lost with AA like 4 times) plus it sucks multitabling there so I'm transferring back to stars and i'm gonna try for some MTT success and maybe mix in a bit of cash game failure.
I realise that you have to have some sort of ridiculous challenge if you wann amake any money in the poker world so mine is gonna be this:
I'm gonna start with $500 on stars tomorrow and turn it into 5k by october 10th 2011.
I figured it out like this: If I play 100BI BRM and on an an average day play 30 tournaments with an ROI of 25% (I think that's do-able what about you?), then on an average day I should increase my bankroll by 7.5%
After 33 days this turns a $500 bankroll into $5000!
The hard part will be maintaining 30 games per day and playing solid poker for 33 days out of the next 2 months. The hard part will be running above or exactly on EV for 35 days straight.
FINALLY managed to ship one!
a $4 MTT for $1045, roll now stands at $1345 which is ahead of schedule for the 5k challenge, although I'm not sure if I wanna move up the stakes too much cos in real life i'm in a bit of an ICM situation at the moment where money won is worth way less than money lost.
I think for the last few days I've been a little bit spewy because It's been so long since I've actually made money at poker. Today I felt a bit different and I was just trying to get my all-in EV more that 5million above my actual winnings (it was at 4.5 mill at the start of today) so that I could complain heaps about how bad I run. Of course I failed in that goal and now the 2 are much closer together.
I might hit the townsville casino and play some poker tonight or tomorrow and see how that goes.
