Pre Flop: (t150) Hero is BB with 2 of hearts J of spades
3 folds, SB calls t50, Hero checks

Flop: (t200) 7 of clubs 2 of clubs A of diamonds (2 players)
SB bets t100, Hero calls t100

Turn: (t400) A of hearts (2 players)
SB bets t600, Hero raises to t2090 all in, SB calls t1490

River: (t4580) 9 of spades (2 players - 1 is all in)

My opponent played 44% out of 30 total hands played - showed some very very very bad plays.

In this hand i called the flop since i had a pair and he can be doing that with any two in that spot - having in mind his stack size.

Now on the turn he over bets: 600 into 400 pot making it 1000 total I had 2000 more - I have FE against him - he either has an Ace or Air (in my mind) - i really do not think that he will be doing that with 7 or a deuce - I though about it and i decided to shove.

At the time i did not realized that even if i increase my stack to 3000 - 50% gain my overall standings will not change in the tourney since we are 6 handed. My question is this is it worth the risk in that spot ?

You ended up overplaying your hand with very spewy line.

You are right that in flop you are ahead quite often. In some spots I might call flop, but in this case you have easy fold. With nice medium stack you want to preserve lead over smaller stacks so playing very marginal hand versus aggressive/spewy chip lead is last thing you want to do.

Perfect. As played shoving the turn to get him to fold... 9x? which he probably doesn't fold is not good.
