Also, in roulette, you don't get 85% equity on even money.

That is an example of you going all in pre-flop with AA vs KK.

Consider that roulette gives you 1:2 on 18:19 odds.

This example in poker gives you 1:2 on 17:3 odds.

Instead of having 18 win chances and 19 loss chances

You have 17 win chances and 3 loss chances.

guys, i KNOW i was lucky, but the lowest i can justify grinding for hours is £50nl, but with the poker free$50 bankroll you are restricted to playing within 25 buyins, i just thought i would take advantage of the offer and have a gamble with someone elses money, but what i want to know is am i allowed to use the pokerfree$50 money this way?

i understand it can be quite tedious to play the lowest stakes if you normally play much higher. there is actually a way to lift the restrictions if you want to play higher stakes if you can tell me where you play, maybe we can clarify this for you further.

you should really think of this as your money, would you waste $50 or now $70 of your own cash? like the others said, roulette is really just gambling, it would only be a matter of time before you lose it all. also you wont be able to withdraw any winnings anyway until you earn POKER points.

sorry its just too hard to play these limits and remain sane i took it to $500 at roulette, trying to lose it but kept doubling up lol but obviously lost it eventually.

Could you not have been tempted to use your bulked up roulette / ex-poker bankroll to play slightly higher micro-stakes & study a nice strategy simultaneously?

The main difference between Poker & Roulette for me is the sense of achievement. Before you go to either table, you know what it involves, the only trouble with roulette is, you don't have a choice, you need to gamble. With poker you have more information at your disposal which can be used to your advantage.

If your luck-up your roll on roulette, you more or less know that you don't deserve it; it's not been earned through hard work. It's just a losing game.

With poker, if you increased your bankroll tenfold from $50, you'd know all about the hard work & dedication that was required to come thus far, and that in itself would make your bankroll more secure, as not only does it contain all those valuebets, but also your blood, sweat & downswings! And to know that you rose above those challenges yet still made it in the end; that feeling in itself is all a poker player needs to continue with willingness.

I wish you all best at whichever tables you choose in future! Just remember: Poker is about learning about yourself.

p.s: I have witnessed only one successful Roulette strategy, but you need to have a good sized bankroll in relation to the stakes of course. And any casino will recognize what you are doing immediately & ask you to leave. As for online casinos, they monitor people like this & only take action when necessary. Moreover, this is most likely upswing. The most +EV strategy for roulette is not to sit down. This subject does make for interesting reading though!

obviously too late

you know 500 was a decent sized roll. you could have just deposited $100 which would lift the bankroll restrictions and started playing NL25 or NL50 with an aggressive BRM (still less gambling as compared to roulette). then you would have been couple of hundred dollars richer.

i'm sorry to say this, but it's very disappointing to me to see players throw away their starting capital on roulette. you shouldn't have requested it if you didn't want it.
