SB checks, Hero bets $0.38, BU folds, SB raises to $1.22 (All-In), Hero folds, SB gets uncalled bet back (All-In).

Final Pot: $1.35

Preflop: Raise normal 4x if you have such a loose BU behind you. You will be playing against him OOP so you should build the pot from the start.

Flop: This is really dry flop so they either have it or they don't. I would bet a bit less than 2/3, I think 1/2 pot is enough = $0,32. It's really ugly situation since whoever calls we can't proceed with betting on the turn. SB is shortstack and BU looks loose.

You made a good fold, no question.

I'm just wondering whether check is possible here? We're not protecting from anything and we could try firing on the turn instead and then checking behind on the river?

Well, I doubt that you can much do here. I would even consider just Checking behind here while with betting you ain't gonna get value from a lot worse anyways.
