_cool:

I had a bad run at the tables today. Down 5BI's after getting caught up in some crap with this opponent who had a 100VPIP% after 70 hands :f_grin: f&%king fish sucked out more than a hoover. I admit I played really bad though, instead of being tighter since he was so loose I loosened my p/f starting hands (big mistake).

I suppose I learned a valuable (and expensive) lesson today, no matter how much of a loose cannon your opponents are you can't expect to play an inferior game to what you would usually play, and expect to get paid off.

I do believe poker is a game that will reward (in the long haul) optimum play more so than average play. For some reason today I went to the tables with a bit of an ego.

The mistake I made today was I was playing for results, the decisions I was making were terrible, I had next to no discipline, and was sucked in to play my opponents game, and not sticking to my TAG style.

I think i'll call it a day with playing poker today, and start re-reading "the poker mindest".

Is there anyone else who is striving to improve their game that has had a similar "brain explosion" at the tables?

Well there will always be a lesson to be taken _cool: in any session of poker win or lose.

Today's lesson for me would be this:-

USE YOUR F&*%ING BRAIN!!!!!

Bad day today.

Something to remember: If you're not making mistakes, you're stagnating. Whenever you try something new, you will make mistakes. Since it's good to keep adding things to your game and trying new things, you'll have to get used to mistakes. So don't treat yourself too harshly, just work on not making those mistakes again.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Sal!

I will be posting a session report up later tonight. :f_p:

Here is graph of my fishness so far.........

Feeling rejuvenated after going and playing (and winning) in a local live game.
I feel like the more I play the more endurance I have to tolerate sick beats and the less it affects my optimum game. Resilience is growing within.

I have finally settled down to the idea that grinding up from the bottom is a lot easier said then done.

Also it has become apparent that not only will it take time and dedication, but i'll have to take some knocks here and there along the way.

I'm determined to reach my goals and prove that I can succeed in this game. This blog will serve as proof that not only can a player grind up the steaks playing proper BRM but also a losing player (myself) can turn a complete 180 and strive forward to success.

*BRM FTW
*Dedication FTW
*Resilience FTW
