Hey Greymouth

Just came across this post so thought I'll throw in my 2 cents :)

First things first - sorry about the experience you had.. I can understand the frustration.

That being said, this was obviously a technical issue, not one of bad service or 888 'stealing' your $'s. Support/888 was in the dark that this happened so if the buy-in was not automatically returned to you for whatever reason, we wouldn't know that you are experiencing an issue as you decided not to let us know. Don't get me wrong - this was most definitely an error and you should have gotten the buy in automatically, but once this didn't happen you need to let us know.

Anyhoo - sorry for the whole experience. Would you like me to have someone call/e-mail you to get this sorted and refund you? Can you give me your username?

Won't stand in your way if you choose not to play on 888 anymore but hope you can give us another chance :).

ps - new software rebuilt from the ground up is coming out in the summer - in a nutshell.. it's just beautiful :)

little offtopic but if we have 888 rep here i post it here :-)

i know "suggested changes for new client" topic is just closed
but if ur are still workin on it my 2 suggestions of features which
if implemented wise can be very helpfull for grinders(the site
that got it done best atm is Poker*, though it dont mean it cant be done better:-)

primo
color coded player types(u got it rather poorly done at old client:
awfull color selection + not eraseable default name-types
P* again got it done best of all the clients i know but i could use even
more colors( custom "fill in" pallete of colors would be even better);
as for default players-names Poker-crusher/Poker-edge terminology
is standard as for now in this business

secundo
P* again have really nice feature of adding custom waves or whatever
music files for different table actions;
i really think thats a great feature but what his client really lacks
at this matter is turning on/off voice of table actions for each table
individually so just 1 example : if u are grindin some SNGs or cash
plus want to try 1/2 MTT u need to turn voice OFF for whole clinet or its unplayble

the best imho option is having different groups of custom voices
for SNGs/Cash/MTT + turning it ON/OFF for each group/individual table

its really shame that at this multimillions industry all that clients are rarely
adding helpfull and easy to code little features,
just think that is the same disease game industry is sufferin right now:
games just get better graphics each year but they are worse and worse each year also,
and if u want better gameplay u need to use players-made
patches+fixes etc(just my 2 cents)

if u could paste/send a team responsible for new client these suggestions
it would be really appreciated
thnx

Yes, I will post what I just posed on the 888 forums rather than type it all again....

This has been going on for over a year now.

I might not have much money in my account, barely a few dollars, but my point is that they took my money from my bank and I was able to play, but then suddenly they stopped me playing and suspended my account.

I am a 39 year old man and they have been saying that I need to prove i am over 18 years old, which is ridiculous, surely they should have asked for that proof before they took my money in the first place!

They then say that I have to send my passport/birth certificate details to Gibraltar....

I am not being funny, but even though Gibraltar is owned by the UK, I do not trust sending my passport/birth certificate abroad to some dodgy country, particularly when we have all the terrorism going on in the world.

Anytime any of friends or colleagues have asked me about poker since this, I have said, whatever you do, do not get involved with 888 as they are thieves and I have posted as such on other forums as this is true as I see it.

888 take my money, then refuse to give it back unless i give terrorists a chance to destroy my country.

Now, this is the first time I have posted here, but I will continue to speak bad about 888 through all my life until MY money is returned you thieving ****;s

thanks have a nice day and believe me the truth is better than a kick in the balls

My facebook currently reads....

IF YOU PLAY POKER DO NOT TRUST 888, THEY WANT YOU TO SEND YOUR PASSPORT TO GIBRALTAR WHERE THERE ARE LOTS OF TERRORISTS BEFORE YOU CAN CASH OUT YOUR WINNINGS

I will continue to encourage others not to use the site until they prove they are not criminals and give my money back to me

i guess its a fail trollface , anyways , if not , then u're pretty a bit too suspicious. ,.Why are ya so frustrated , ya can read all the stuff while installing the software in T&C, and btw all poker rooms ask for an ID/passport

Thx guys,

Yes just to confirm, all poker rooms ask for ID confimation, it is in your interest to do so as it is a way of protecting your money and your personal details ensuring that no-one else can access your account.

It's also a legal requirement that underage persons (18 yrs old in the UK, may differ from country to country) do not play gambling games for real money, all poker rooms are required to check that they comply with this legislation.

ID confirmation is a simple and quick process that you should only have to go through once and it is a requirement without exception.

If anyone is genuinely experiencing any problems, please contact the relevent poker room's own support team. As you can see from the 888 rep here, they are very approachable, friendly and will do whatever they can to help you through the process.

We would respectfully ask that you give the platforms support team a chance to help you and don't just post abuse or facebook statuses that could be misleading at best and potentially a legal minefield at worse.

With best regards,

Bart

I did not have to verify my ID on Boss network, played on 3 sites there, deposited and withdrew without anyone asking me for personal details.
