And from there go i had a plan playing a big live tournaments. And i will not give up. I want so much more than just make living from poker. And i really think i can do that. And yes my ego is big but i am also realistic. i think. I hope i will prove it. i wont give up until i do

Hi, advice from a loosing player :);), go back to college, finish it, do not think poker will be fun all your life ;), p.s. veliko srece pri pokru!

I am still in profit.. But what you are really trying to say is that i must be so stupid becouse after all games i played i am still playing worse that my opponents who just starting playing poker.. i think that you dont understand that luck is important and more than luck and skill is in tournaments and sng important timing. I think that you are thinking that the best player is the one who wins the hand either is behind or ahead.

for instance a hand from the tournament for 33 dollars yesterday.
we both had around 16000 chips and blinds were 100/200.
He calls from early i reraise to 800 from middle with JJ. He calls. Flop comes 10,3,2 all different suits. He check, i bet 1400, he calls. Turn 9 all different suits. I bet 4000 he calls. river 9. He check, i was now thinking. i can check or go all in. maybe he has a set and was slow playing but he would probably reraise, becouse he was all the time aggressive. not likely that he had a 9, except 10,9 suited but he would probably reraise the turn, perfect stacks for shove i think. not likely that he has overpair. A,10 i think is probably the best possible hand. there were really not draws so i think 10 is pretty much in his range. i did go all in for around 8000 and he was thinking and then he calls me with 8,9 off. he calls me preflop loose, calls me flop with no outs and on the river he was thinking if he would call me with trips:D
My question for you is if you think i made mistake on the river ??

Why are you shoving? For value? Which worse hands are calling you here, 10x maybe? Which better hands are calling? Sets, 2 pair, 9x, over pairs. I would check it but I am a cash game player only. Also you have said nothing about the villain. A passive fish calling 3 streets with 89 is standard. It seems like you are asserting that the reason you lose is because of how other people play (particularly bad players). This is common thought process by many however you need to adjust to opponents or you will never win.

all hand that can beat me he would probably shove and not check. the hands that i can beat are 88,77,66,55,44 and any 10. i think that shove is very standard and most than not will be a good move. i would say set of 2,3 is the only logical hands that beat me, but the way i play he must be pretty sure i have an overpair, so he would probabl go all in at least on the river and not check.
You said you are a cash player. i think that anybody in cash will shove there(perfect stacks). You must also play a tournament for 1 place, and not only that you will protect your chips, you must risk all your chips even in coinflip. i had a lot of problems in the past, becouse i go out when i got in the money or just before that, and becouse i played tight i almost never won tournament. Of course most of these players does not think logical and it is harder adjust than better players. But at least in long term it is win easy money against them.

Why do you think that you are "great player"? I mean, what references you have that makes you think that?
I am just curious.

Another idea, just an idea, in poker to win you don't have to be a "good player", you have to be "better than others at your table".

So maybe others are simply better?
Tried to play smaller stakes?

Anyway, I feel you, with all due respect, just thought to fire a post.

i guess you did not read all posts. i have a lot to prove that i am possible to be a great player. i only say this in name of a threat that you will read this!. and i feel like an idiot becouse everybody is saying
that i have too much imagination that i am great.
reality is i am better then players who i am playing against and someday when i will built my bankroll i could play in big live tournaments and also improve my game all the time and maybe some day i will be great. but becouse i had lately a lot problems of bad beats i came here for some good advice( for instance someone had experience that before and start playing live)

now will mean a lot to me if you will stop saying that i am amateur becouse it is really not helpfull

i think nobody want to insult you,all want you to have a some perhapse realistic wiew on yourself and your game...its not a shame to see where you stand, that may help you go forward if you not satisfied with ur current position...give you a bit more realistic wiew...and yes, sometimes poker community can be bit harsh:)but that can be also you not satisfied withyourself and ur scores...IMO,you are on good path as soon as you realise where you stand now and where you want to be...

i was playing all stakes up to 200, lately up to 50 most of them 5,11,22. and it doesnt matter which stake it wes i really did not feel that i dont have a chance. i did not lose money in this 13 months i just did not win. the problem before that is that i did not respect BR so when i had a bad session i lost BR. and then i start again, and again. i made deposit 50 euros. i am up to 500 dollars in a few days and when i had like 10buy ins i did go in higher limits(big mistake)! and becouse of bad session(bad beats, which is standard from everyone to time to time) and i lost BR.

i think that you also need to understand that in poker everybody have a chance, even 5% while others can have 75%,therefor i would like to play where i am 75% favourite,so you only need to determine exact numbers on yourself

If you run as bad as you say, let's see a graph with EV. If you don't have a graph because you don't use HEM, then another piece of advice - use HEM.

hello

for me is much better now.
i won in live poker 2000 dollars in 2 days.
and 4 days ago i deposit 300 euro in 888 and i have 2500 dollars now there. i was only playing tournaments with a decent structure. but almost all of my tournaments i was in cash or just go out before. problem is that i was not in top 3 where money is . i am playing slowly there (5-8 tournamens) there is a limit now max 8 tournaments which sux. i think that i can easily with cashes cover my loss for buy ins and when i am top 3 it is a profit. i am playing around 50 tournaments a day with 10-100 dollars buy ins with 50-400 players.

gl to you boyrobot777 dont give up
