I would kill for 2.5bb/100 profit online. I think i played 1 million nl100 hands last year (not an exaduration, i got grind) and won at under 1bb/100

I have similar results in live cash game. From January to June, I won like 4k euros on mostly 0.5/1e games(sometimes 1/2). After a summer brake, from Septmber to mid-October run pretty good(~3k profit). Had a 2 month personal brake, now back again. Played for the past two nights with sick swings. Brake even so far, which is great, considering i lost 2 huge pots(~900 both), with over 90% equity before the river.

It's a long winter, hope I will do even better next year.

Quit online poker over a year ago. I just can't concentrate and motivate my self, feels like Im playing a game, with no money involved. Live is different and way better for me.

30 hands/hour if u get a fairly good dealer and ok players (some bad players really slow down the game, also softer games tend to run slower b/c of bigger pots). I play as much poker as i can fit into my uni schedule w/o sacrificing my social life. Last month I played 80 hours.
MIMI: Congrats, keep pawning. I dont play online poker much but i left a little money online in case i want to play the sunday majors or something.

i posted this on 2+2, but i guess i may as well post it here too.

this is pretty much all 1/2, i only played 2/5 for about 4 hours in this period and only won like $300 at 2/5. The first 2 months I did not keep track of sessions but i know my profit and I think I played approximatly 65 hours (I am highballing it, its probally more like 50) each month.

@ Op, please enlighten us the exact location/name/ of this casino which country etc. Ill go there on my next vacation thats for sure.

I dont want to give too much about myself away b/c this is a public forum but the city I play in is Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

what was your starting Broll for this 1/2$nl casino if i may ask, was it 5k or less or more :P

personally mine was >5K but my biggest downswing was $800 so even if u have a 2K BR, it is pretty unlikely that you will go broke playing 1/2.

I heard somewhere that a good hourly is 3x the average raise size in a given game. My average openraise size is around $15 (depends on the table ofc) and my average iso size is about $20. The reasons I can maitain such a high wr are
1) relativly low rake (5% up to $5)
2) $500 max buyin
3) no larger NLHE games available most of the time
4) people get overpaid for regular jobs in Alberta b/c of the Oil and Gas industry which means fish have more money to blow

if posting this link is against board rules pls remove it, i was unsure.

"The tough part about win rates in live poker is the fact that there is such a small sample size. On average, players see 20 - 25 hands/hr at a live casino. This is a nothing compared to the 60+ hands per hr/table you see online. So, you might be playing 4 times a week for 5 hour sessions over a period of four months and see that your win rate is 40/hr at 1/2 NL. Wow. 20BB/hr. This means your absolutely crushing the game. But in reality, you shouldn't take this number too seriously. Why? Because your sample size is too small. Assuming 25 hands, you only see 500 hands/wk and 8000 hand in the 4 month period. This is not close to the long run and solid online player can go 40k+ hands of breaking even because of bad variance or luck. Since it's tough to get a large sample size, just be honest about your skill level. Are you just hitting big hands? Are you giving beats to a lot of people? As a rule of thumb, if your winning 20BB/hr+ in a game, you are most likely on a heater (running really good). I think the best players in the game (over a large sample) probably win closer to 10BB/hr with the rare few (in really good games/very competent) winning closer to 15BB/hr. So, in conclusion, just be aware of yourself and be honest. It's the only way to get by with conditions given in live games. Don't let stats determine your skill level, especially when they are not over a significant sample. "

That said, no doubt that you crush these games :) - and i also believe that having winrates above 20bb/100 in live games is very possible.

Keep it up man. Live games can be really fun when winning but hearbreaking when losing (IMO) - because it takes so long to make back the lost money. - 10-20x longer than it takes online

According to most dealers at the casino I play at, they try to get 30 hands per hour. I also thought I was just on a massive heater at first. My opinion changed by talking to other grinders in Edmonton who have similar and better results through larger sample sizes (see the thread i linked to).

As for dealing with swings live, downswings are much smaller live b/c your winrates are larger. I agree that losing money live is alot harder to deal with. I have a few suggestions to deal with that. First bring alot of money to the casino. That way you wont have to quit or go to the bank machine if u lose a few buyins. Secondly over time u will develop a strong disconnection with the money u play with. It almost feels like monopoly money. I am soo glad I didnt have a proper job before poker otherwise this disconnection would be alot tougher.
