UTG: $35.86 - VPIP: 18, PFR: 18, 3B: 0, AF: 1.2, Hands: 71

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is BTN with K :club: K :spade:
UTG raises to $0.75, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2.40, 2 folds, UTG calls $1.65

Flop: ($5.15) 9 :diamond: 8 :diamond: 2 :diamond: (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $4.40, UTG calls $4.40

Turn: ($13.95) 5  (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $8.80, UTG calls $8.80

River: ($31.55) J  (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

I thought that the only hand in my taggish looking opponent that I can get value from on the river is QQ, and since I think he can easily have more hands in his range that beat me than the few combos of QQ that he plays this way I choose to check behind.

What about bet/folding small in this spot?

PS: If I think he is not making a call with a worse hand more than 50% of his total responsive moves, it's not a + EV play, right?

Hi,

If you have ever showed river as bluff with AdK, then you should defnitely shove river for value your overpairs, since draws missed and he get good odds, he would likely call you down with TT and sometimes with 77

Best regards,

Best regards,

Under what circumstances should I shove river with Ad X, sir? I am not doing that currently. Against taggy opponent's that don't have too high wtsd for example ?

Well wtsd is important, but more often it depends on the game flow and general knowledge that players are not calling down light in 3-bet pots- that was also your point why you didn´t shove river for value.

Best regards,
