Found this one 9gag, We have Mountain Dew Energy in Ireland which is even filled with more sugarsugar, it is so fascinating to see people drink that crap especially when they are not... slim but regardless of that they must feel like shit mentally and physically for sure.

You really eat what you are :f_grin:

Striving for Total Quality Management.

I took this pic when I was in Copenhagen Airport so I most have some sense of genius instinct that I ever going to use this picture for something

Definition:
The act of overseeing all activities and tasks needed to maintain a desired level of excellence. This includes creating and implementing quality planning and assurance, as well as quality control and quality improvement. It is also referred to as total quality management (TQM).

I've been fairly busy with small projects that need to be carried out university wise. Lately I have come across 2 new projects I have implemented in my own life in order to ''improve'' quality even more.

Based on the theory I studied from Jared Tendler's book, I implemented a spreadsheet about my vision on how I perceive the game mentally. It has nothing to do with moneywise being up or down, I strive to minimize the results orientated judgement based on it.

The other thing I have implemented is simply buying a weighing scale and measure my body fat%, water body% 2 times a day to see a real progress in my nutrition intake. For me it is pretty hard to maintain it because the lunch 4 out of 5 days are mostly bought at shops around my university. so it truely affects the variables right there. Furthermore on Tuesday evening, I don't have all day to make dinner as I have trading classes then.

To actually see the numbers, noting it down - gives me a good feeling if I want to work my way down. Currently I weigh 61.2kg, 170cm +/- with 9.5% body fat, 63.4% water in body. Definitely I want to be working it down to 59.5KG, 8% BF. I don't have a short term deadline so I can take it relatively easy

The other thing that I want to do for the rest of my poker career and is inspired by Samoleus & Jared tendler is to have a log of your mental game progress throughout the sessions. I have felt the importance of having a mindset in PLO. I already got the message before I even switched to PLO so I figured I need this more than doing technical analysis.

Spoiler

It looks pretty basic since it is version 1.0 so any improvements to it is appreciated.

  • Quality of Play ; I give myself a perfomance % based in how well I played (A, B, C game). So if lost 10 stacks but I felt immediately after my game that those spots were mathematical correct, I still give myself a high percentage.
If my mind goes blank in loads of pots well then I get a low score
  • Variance score ; Being relatively new to PLO, this number gets more accurate with the more sessions I play (experience). now it is more based on comparing PLO with NLHE SH which is a natural thing to do. That's why it is crucial for me to put extra comments in there
  • Mental Issues ; As you can see in the session I had some frustration/dissapointment. It means that I identied what went wrong so I can work on that. That's the most important thing here. Apparantly I kept my composure as I didn't wrote down {ended session prematurely} or something like that

    Last but not least

  • Std. Dev. bb/100 gives some indication - mathwise - how swingy your session was in an objective point of view

So currently my weekend has been productive, I did watched a movie yesterday night - not sure if that was productive but it was entertaining watching Emma Stone in Zombieland (2009) , damn. The rules were hilarious.

Like 1 rule was
Enjoy the little things

& thats where I want to end my blog entry of today, just enjoy the little things like Henry scoring versus Sunderland hence winning the match, etcetera :f_cool:

Seems Gervinho can't really shoot penalties hence Zambia being the Champions of Africa

The guys who got 6.5:1++ on that, congrats , I almost bet on Cote D'ivoire but decided against it

Tho my two teams were doing fine (Arsenal & PSV), kinda sad to see Ivory Coast going down this way :(

Pokerwise, after studying some parts of the Tilt-section of Jared Tendler, I felt the composure I was looking for. What also helped is having a 98/80 fish on your right who has a 300-400bb stack. His 3bet is 88% (I shit u not) and soon he was gone :P

Tomorrow I have to present my Marketing Project.
The assignment was to find a new emerging lifestyle as a result of the recession. Since I took the ''bargain shopper'' or ''conscious shopper'' with great price sensitivity, I made a prezi about it:

http://prezi.com/d4dq903mb6to/marketing/

Basically I picked the 10 products/services in Ireland and/or Global:

  • Ryanair
  • Groupon
  • SmartShoppers.ie (Grocery Store comparison)
  • Netflix
  • Tesco Mobile
  • UPC bundle
  • Airtricity
  • Lidl
  • Early Bird promotions in local Restaurants
  • the 2euro store where everything is either a euro or 2 euro

It's going to be fun :f_love: no practice, pure passion!

Crossposted from Dan Ariely's blog

This blogpost actually came 24h after I wrote my blogpost about FREE! stuff.

Apparantly this tatoo thing was in Holland so I only can imagine that only a particular group were kind enough to give up some space on their body for free cinema :P

--

Audience with a Dragon Tattoo

Feb05

I’ve explored the power of free in the context of tattoos before, and anyone who saw last years’ comedy Bridesmaids no doubt laughed at this particularly memorable scene. But this story out of the Netherlands caught me a little off guard just the same. First, consider what you would do for a year’s worth of free movie tickets. Or if you like live music, tickets to your favorite venue. Would you pay $200? Would you eat a bag of (nonpoisonous) insects?

Well, the Unlimited Movies Cinema in the Netherlands has offered moviegoers the opportunity to see free movies for an entire year—all they have to do is get the theater’s logo (a dog-like creature flying under a banner of unfurled film reel) tattooed on their body (for pictures, check this page out). The offer is part of a promotion for the latest movie in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series.

I developed an appreciation for the surprising power of FREE! from the experiments my colleagues and I conducted on how people respond to things when their cost is zero (included in Predictably Irrational). For instance, when we set up a temporary candy stand and sold mouthwatering Lindt truffles (which usually cost around 50 cents) for 15 cents and ho-hum Hershey Kisses for 1 cent, 73% of the chocolate-lovers who stopped by made the rational decision and chose the superior and highly discounted Lindt truffles. But when we lowered the price by 1 cent for each item—resulting in a cost of 14 cents and 0 cents respectively—suddenly demand reversed and 69% of consumers chose the free Kisses.

The power zero exercises over people’s choice in chocolate nicely demonstrates the irrational draw of free things, but it’s still difficult to know what to make of people getting a cinema logo (and not the most aesthetically pleasing one at that) permanently inked on their body for a single year of free movies. While according to the story, only 18 people have elected to exchange skin space for free movies, one has to ask whether the wonders of free will ever cease…

What do you think ?

Got a busy day today :)

First having a lecture about me working with Excel :megusta: it just means I am socializing with my friends around me & impressing people with my ubermicro leet skills lol

To be serious, I had to be there to meetup with my teammates for a business plan project. That didn't really worked out well but managed to survive there. Then at some point it was already 4 o clock which means my evening classes of trading were almost starting.

I quickly went to the main building & studied Mental Game + some PS work on the laptop in the library.

Then I managed to eat a pita wrap + soup before the actual seminar while watching TED's hilarious vid about ''why you will fail'' .

First we got an intro for our platform with a demo account, the guy explaining all the features and so on including some technical graphs. Then my mentor took it over and covered his own strategy (fulltime trader for 30+ years) and some technical analysis.

I wrote loads of notes & observation points during time so I have to observe what is going to happen tomorrow & the day after in specific times to see how the market reacts

I am very satisfied that I seized this opportunity because I feel that this is just another game for me and I want to be the best in a competitive environment :f_cool:

Gerv out to sleep

Oh it was Valentine's day today, happy \/day

Personally I just can't wait to see next week. I have a holiday (lol_students) so I can grind all day long without having to do group assignments.

I got word that next year I dont have any exams (which is great because I normally dont play then due stress performance) but more group assignments. Means I have the opportunity to improve my time management. + my course there are 2 hard working chicks in my group so I have potential

Also next week is Budapest as a sort of month highlight so another thing worth grinding for (kinda reward goal)

My mentor in trading told me i could trade anything with my demo account, I tried out predicting gold prices with some standard tech analysis, I had to update my java for the more advanced one. Needless to say I drew a boundary line thinking it would not splash through so I was expecitng it to fall down. It did with 30-40% activity but then it skyrocketed (RSI >80%) above my stoploss and bam I was out

Pokerwise, played 1 session, an OK one & had position on a reg who was just fucking tilting his ass off (he was not acting for sure). Made a kinda loose play but managed to get him even more tilting than a banana that won't open easily

Anyways tomorrow is another hard fighting day, we are coming closer to the holidays! :megusta:

Food Fri... Saturday!

I like this although It needs some tweaking but the taste is nice :)

I use special Polish smoked ham, they were in the discount tho but oh man, you should put 6 oz in there instead of 4 oz. My chicken stock/broth was kinda meh but ok

For 1 person I used 1/2 butternut squash but damn I need a machete for that the next time :f_eek:

I used cabbage to make 'spagheti'. It was pain in the ass to cut it as well Machete would be nice indeed
