Since few days ago till i donno when but selling USD/JPY, USD/CHF has been extremely profitable, the downgraded of US debt to AA+ results a massive selling in US dollar.

If i play using standard account, in 24hours since yesterday i should be earning over $15k, but damn, i am using mini account.

Whats the difference between Mini account and standard account if you don't mind explaining.

well mini account started at $25 - $2000
Standard $2000 - X0,000
Vip $50k above.

*but dont open account at $25, the so low margin will eat your money before u even make $$$, unless you are experience trader.

interesting... I was talking the other day in irc about this and the possibilities if you had say 1mill to start with how much you could make over a say the next 5 years just trading Canadian for American or vice versa as it fluctuates.

Take the Canadian dollar. we were at 0.77$ to the us dollar in 2009 and have been at 1$+ for a while. I can see the Canadian dollar hitting 1.10$ or higher in the next year, possibly the next few months. Especially if a barrel of oil goes for 100$+ again "which it will".

If you invested right and follow the trends I'm sure you can do well.

I'm going to give Forex a try some day.

Learning forex is likely the hardest thing you will ever do, the first 3 or 4 years (at least) the markets will pin you in the gutter and kick the shit out of you.
If you come out the other side it can be very rewarding though. I shorted USD/CHF at 1.0330, that trade is currently $15k in profit and still running.

Look me up on Forex Factory if you want, my name there is numbnuts.

@delete461: How much do you trade; swing or intraday or a combination?

Hi

I moved the thread to the Small Talk" board as it is not poker related

I trade long term trends. I try to get in on the start of trends and hold them for months, even years if the trend lasts that long. I describe my system here

You can find me on FF too, I'm Jasus. Yes forex is very difficult, especially intraday. Trading daily/weekly is so much easier...

I wouldn't pay much attention to forums until you got the lesson studied from books. After doing that, going to the forums to talk about your strategy with other people that do something similar can be rewarding, because you'll get ideas for your own trading.
