Im also at the stage in my life where i feel i should start believing that everyone who doesn't believe whatever i decide on deserves to burn in hell forever

You should considering learning from the greatest artists in the world.
It is defined the most difficult art and you have to believe in it too.
On the other hand it is very easy because the most things are inside of you...

The art to attract women with the psychologicaly knowledge of today and the past. ( 10.000 years ago )
Because the underlayer in our environment to be succesfull is the deep understanding of yourself and you life opponent. What I guess if you are not gay is called a women.

If you study this you will find so many answers in life.
If you are good in this one you will have a way better life.

All I can say is it seems to work for me and the thought of there been nothing at all to believe in fills me with a sense of hopelessness(spelling check lol) we are all so different and some of us like something to beleive(spell check!!lol) , does it really matter if we are wrong?
I'm 43 now and I'm happy, when I was younger I was very unhappy.
I dont have the answers just my life experience
If it turns out I have it wrong does it really matter, have I wasted my life?
If the chicken's egg turns out to be a lizard then so be it lol
As for prayer I dont pray to change the world I just pray to become a better person.... less selfish..more helpfull..more understanding etc...surely this is not a bad thing?

I used to be a Jehovah's Witness, so I've read a version of the bible, in parts.

I'm now an atheist, and take comfort from naturalistic pantheism and the fact that I'm here at all is so imposible. I use to think science wascold and calculating an tok away the romance of nature, but once I read into actual science I was overawed.

I have nothing against people being religious if it truly does make them happy (I think it's a rare thing, however). Look into different religions, take the parts of them that you like and combine them into your own personal philosophy. I can't urge anybody enough to avoid organise religion. Spirituality is a personal thing, nobody should tell you what you should believe, or not allow you to question it.

I find this an odd concept, I'm assuming by "believe in something" you are generally referring to some kind of religion or supernatural entity. I personally have never considered this to be 'a step forward' but I am far from a 'spiritual' guy.

But over the past year I've begun to wonder, Is "The Holy Bible" just the best ever written novel of all time OR an actual way of life....

I would say neither and I have actually read the damn thing.

So, who have read it, thoughts and beliefs?

I am an atheist, just a heads up and I have read the Bible and often engage in debates over religion. I find the Bible to be void of any worthy merit and certainly not an advisable moral compass. Fairly poorly written, fairly boring to get through it. But hey, plenty of people feel very differently about it so maybe I'm just completely wrong, it is a strong possibility. Best advice I can give if you do plan on reading it and engaging the religion, remain skeptical, look into the apologetics and the debates over it, be advised that it is not historically sound and modern scholarship of the Bible is well aware and vocal about this fact.
