"Cam Ward is lights out when it comes to playoffs"

Considering Ward won the cup in his rookie year i hope your not saying he is not good in the playoffs.

'lights out' is usually used to describe something awesome, etc.

well it can go either way the way he described it.

and lights out isnt always a awesome thing like when someone say im going to knock your lights out.

Vancouver won because of luongo and only luongo! they played like crap imo.

and Mtl is toast and I'll happily take bets on the Bos-Mtl serries. 20$ says Bos beats Mtl. any takers?

Man, My picks for yesterdays games where horrible. Usually I run good.

Anyways Vancouver won which is what I really care about, although the reffing was horrid.

@ Cardbender. By Lights out I mean he plays great in the playoffs. I think hes a sub par goalie who comes to play ONLY in the playoffs.

Where abouts are you guys from in BC? I'm from Surrey and regularily play at Edgewater.

I'm liking all the different teams everyone in here are picking to win 1st round. Here are mine then I'll give you my cup matchup!

EAST

MTL in 7
CAR in 6
WAS in 6
PIT in 5

WEST

SJ in 6
COL in 7 (this is my 1st round sleeper team)
VAN in 5
CAL in 6

WEST FINALS

SJ vs. VAN - VAN in 6

EAST FINALS

WAS vs. PIT - WAS in 7

CUP WINNERS

VANCOUVER in 6!

Ok...now just so everyone knows, I tend to go for the underdogs when making bets like this(payouts are awesome when you get them right) and also I'm an OILERS fan so I really don't care who wins! lol (not true I would like to see a Canadian team win it this year!)

I'm in Burnaby. Unfortunately money's too tight for me to play live right now. :(

Crazy, Apparently PidKoker is from Surrey. Kinda wondering where from. I tend to know a lot of people here depending on his age.

I am the biggest habs fan, but I have the feeling they will lose in 6. Then, I root fo rthe Columbus Blue Jackets.

Great offense and goaltending.

Sorry to break it too you Cham but both those teams are losing. Columbus has weak offense, one of the lowest in the league. They win from Ken Hitchcocks crazy trap coaching.

As for the Goaltending your right, That guy is the future of the league.

YEA BOSTON!!!!

3 out of 3 on the hockey picks tonight. Philly and St.Louis are in big trouble now down 0-2. Its only two games but the vancouver series might be over quickly, luongo seems unbeatable right now. If St. Louis is going to win a game it will be the next one. Been awhile since St. Louis has had a playoff home game.

Philly got a little bit unlucky tonight. Ever notice when a team scores late to send the game to extra time the team that tied it up usually ends up winning the game. Happens so much during the regular season.

Montreal and Calgary to bounce back after opening game losses tomorrow night.

Not many goals being scored so far either.

Later everyone.

I came across a guy from St.Louis last night at the tables. This was right after the Canucks won. He was devistated.

Needless to say i took pleasure in his pain due to to the fact that the Canucks are my team. He then proceeded to clean the other 4 people at our table out of thier money. He left with 42 bucks after about 100 hands after sitting down with 10. Couldn't believe it.

I am a huge Habs fan but am very glad they are getting their asses handed to them. I wouldn't want anyone in the Monteal management team to get ideas that this team doesn't suck. If it weren't for the great start to the season they never would have made the playoffs. They are too small and too soft and need major upgrages at all positions.

Habs are also too french :P And a bunch of thier players dont care. Pictures of Carey Price smoking 4 cigarettes at a time during the season and such is just ridiculous. What a spoiled brat. The guy gets paid millions to keep himself healthy and he does that.

Also, you shouldn't care about thier management getting ideas, you should be worried about thier owners considering keeping the same management in place. That management team is a trainwreck.

On a more happy note, Canucks are sweeping tonight and I'm driving around with my broom out the window.

Canucks sweep! Woohoo!
4 down, 12 to go... Bring on the... um... whoever they play in the second round!

Bring on Chicago so we can sweep them! Seriously though my prediction the Ducks would win (see first page of post, I really did predict that) took a beating last night when SJ won.

So far my predictions are looking pretty good.

3-0 now, shoulda bet. I'm looking good on the ducks series too!

I just want to point out that I went 8/8 on my predictions.

Good thing none of you took any bets against me. I'm a betting BEAST

Wow, that was a heartbreaker for the Devils tonight. :(

6/8 for my first-round picks. Not bad, seeing as I also picked the number of games right in two of them!

Now, it's time for the second round picks:

Boston > Carolina in 5
I admit I didn't follow these two teams as much as I could have. Thomas vs. Ward will be a good matchup, but the Hurricanes may have blown themselves out getting past New Jersey.

Pittsburgh > Washington in 6
This series is going to be epic: Crosby and Malkin vs. Ovechkin and Semin. I think this is too close to call on paper, but the Capitals will be tired and may miss Brashear's toughness.

Detroit > Anaheim in 5
Hiller's hot, but will he be able to stop the league's best power play? Detroit's depth will probably be too much for the Ducks to handle too.

Vancouver > Chicago in 6
The Hawks' offense and hot power play meet the Canucks' solid defense and penalty-kill. The Canucks are more experienced -- granted, experience did little for the Flames last round, but Vancouver has none of the injury woes that Calgary did. Luongo will win the goaltenders' duel against Khabibulin.

Well, lets see if I can keep this perfection rolling into the second round.

Boston>Carolina (6)

Pittsburgh>Washington (5)

Anaheim>Detroit (7)

Vancouver>Chicago (6)

Of course I'm still cheering for Vancouver as per usual.

That was quite a boring match. Pittsburgh were playing like they didn't realise they were playing for the Stanley Cup.
