Software recovery?

Someone knows anything about how to recover deleted files on a FAT32 sstem? I deleted a lot files by mistake (On Linux it just takes 1 added word to much to delete all instead of a few selected files.)

I'm missing around 50GB+. If this would be just for me it would be no big problem but it's the HDD of a friend. :/

I backed the raw files up but his whole folder system is gone. (700 folders.)

I tried to recove it byte for byte but the result is unnamed files without my folder structure.

What I need is a windows programm (since I tried a lot on Linux already) which can recover the HDD with the folders. (Freeware please. ^^)

I do not know any recover programs, but here are facts...
Files are not deleted yet. Do not do anything that stores data on your HDD.
When you delete your files just path to them are deleted. And when you are "creating new files", this old "deleted" files are overwritten.
So my suggestion would be... Turn off PC and wait for a computer nerd ♦

Thx. It's a USB HDD so there is no access on it at the moment.

I don't know if the program can recover the folder structure but at least it's for free
there are some other programs I found where it says they can recover fodler struture etc. but they cost a few dollars :\

Btw: Why are you alsways offline in skype while you are online here?

Thx Chiller3k. I found a program named Recova which works very well.

I'm at my fathers notebook at the moment and have no skype here. I even delete every thing I do for maximum security. I'll be at my PC later the day.

Recuva was the name.... I finally had all files on a extern HDD but then I got unlucky.... the 2nd HDD fall to the ground while running --> dead. :/
The programm now finds even less files.... so dead HD + less files to recover....

Not my day.
