Middlesbrough fan here :)

No way, unbelievable! You from Middlesbrough too?!

I've always followed the Boro, unavoidable really. Was a season card holder the season before last (first season in the Championship), but started working weekends after that season so didn't bother renewing.

Think the playoffs are the realistic target this season for Boro, think Southampton and West Ham have been too good so far and can't see them not taking the 2 automatic spots. Although saying that, the standard of play in the Championship these days is so high there's a number of teams that could finish in the playoffs.

I fancy west ham for the title definitely , but i think there is an auto promotion spot available as i think Southampton will slip to the playoffs. They are playing some great stuff but playing well above their ability as a squad. Still don't think we will step up and take it , but we should maintain the playoffs.

Epic win today versus a good Cardiff side CheckBop.Congrats.Do you go to matches bud.Whenever i think of Middlesbrough i think of Juninio and Ravenelli for obvious reasons and a certain Steve McClown.Hope to see ye back up someday, sooner rather then later though such a tough division to get out of and stay out of.

He's taken the classic route to the ABs job of briefly resurrecting Wales hopes as their head coach by winning a few games, before the knives came out, as they inevitably seem too.

I think he'll do an okay job - the NZRU have retained enough players that he'll do well to seriously stuff things up.

@ Luke Donald.

Epic post MQ. I was thinking the other day how incredible his performance is, especially given the ups and downs he's had through his career. A guy who just has his game in order and gets the absolute maximum out of his ability. Not always true of sportsmen from the motherland.

Hey iFortunatus, welcome to the forum! I believe you may be our first Chelsea fan. What did you make of the match yesterday? I thought Wigan played well and deserved their point, but I was hoping you'd win to keep the pressure on City. I also see your linked with Neymar again, swap deal for Torres??! ;)

Cheers mate, he also lost his Dad half through the season and to battle back from that takes some bottle, top bloke.

What do you mean that our sportsmen do not always fulfil their potential??! Eddie the Eagle, Gazza, Frank Bruno...

Just look at Phil 'The Power' Taylor... what more could you ask for from an 'Athlete'??

You're only as good as your last game, and your last game finished in the quarters.

And, good point, Eddie the Eagle probably a great example of an Englishman blowing waaaay past his potential... as for Frank Bruno, he's one terrible marathon runner.

 The Power. Just to be able to throw a dart straight despite the vast gravitational pull of his gut is an outstanding effort (obviously his adjustments aren't as severe as some of his opposition, but still well played that man!).

Not looking good for the Villains at Half Time.

This is by no means a brag. Having witnessed Mission Impossible in Istanbul back in 2005.

Two great goals by Messi and Barca now officially the best team in the world, at least that'll keep all the plastic Madrid/United fans quiet for a while....;)

Might as well get this over and done with:

@MarkQuick Congrats. How it is not 4-0 i don't know.Suarez is a class act, whether or not he ends up getting the goal he deserves.Brutal stuff from Villa in all departments. Not even going to bother defending them for the rest of what is going to be a painful season. So frustrating.Martin O'Neil was our greatest loss in the last decade.

Edit: 5th premier league game won away from home this season already.Get yer home form sorted out and one or two signings in January and voila ye will be fine.

Off to drown my sorrows.

I had to give you a few days to mourn mate, but......what has Mcleish done?? You're right losing O'Neill is the worst thing to happen to Villa for a long time. The players look disinterested, do you think he's lost the dressing room?

I hope you hold on to Bent in Jan, but I have a bad feeling......

I know the Suarez issue is a very contentious one, but I fail to see how the FA can find him guilty on Evra's word alone?

Not one shred of evidence, with both the FA and Evra claiming that they don't think Suarez is a racist??! If you then take into consideration Evra's previous (Chelsea, Finnian) allegations, the ban is nothing short of ridiculous.

Agreed.

Not being biased in anyway. Had it been the other way around I'd still say the same. The FA are using this situation to stamp out further incidents or to set the tone of what will happen if this arises again.

John Terry to be suspended for 8 months?

whatajoke.com

I'm assuming it'll be at least halved by appeal but knowing the FA anything could happen.

His grandfather was a black man for crying out loud!
