Anyone who has taken care of a wild animal and made it a pet recently? Did you have hard time providing it's needs during this pandemic? I'm planning to buy a savannah monitor from my friend's friend but I still have trust issues if I can provide for him this pandemic.
Not sure it's smart to take care of wild animals. I wouldn't do that. What kind of wild animals you think of?
Cheers,

A savannah monitor is a type of lizard, so they don't need a lot of looking after.
If they're legal to own in your jurisdiction the pandemic shouldn't matter much.
I have no wild animal pets -- though some would say my cats qualify.
My niece has two bearded dragons -- they're not technically wild either since they come from a domestic breeder.
We feed wild birds in the winter, but none of them are pets since they don't interact with us other than eating the food.
In the past we've had squirrels eating out of our hands, but we've not seen squirrels in a few years.
That's good to know. I was thinking a savannah monitor wasn't a animal.
That's the problem if English isn't my first language I guess

From the article linked above
Savannah monitors are stoutly built, with relatively short limbs and toes, and skulls and dentition adapted to feed on hard-shelled prey. They are robust creatures, with powerful limbs for digging, powerful jaws and blunt, peglike teeth. Maximum size is rarely more than 100 cm. Their diet is much more restricted than that of other African monitor lizards, consisting mainly of snails, millipedes, orthopterans, beetles, and other invertebrates.
Yikes! It would need a rather large enclosure
Haha yeah, it will be tough preparing for its enclosed home but we have a huge "enclosed" garden in our home and planning to make a glass-type enclosure large enough for them. I do plan on taking a baby savannah so maybe a little aquarium type house would suffice for now. ♦
At least you have enough space for animals like this. Hopefully you have still time for pets when everything is back to normal.

Definitely -- it is now illegal (in BC anyway) to capture game animals and attempt to domesticate them.
