Ok I know the Oscars are not a sport, but it is an event the sports betting community put a lot of money on.
Anyone got any tips for the winners?
IMO Birdman for best picture. It's a 'meta' film in that in it is a movie about movies. Its one of the favourites and I think given it will be movie industry people voting, its a good pick.
The director of Boyhood for best director. This movie could also win best picture, but I think it will get this one instead. It is a unique movie which took ten years to make, it has to win one of the big two.
Eddie Redmayne for best actor. He was amazing in The Theory of Everything and its hard to vote against him when Stephen Hawking is alive and well, because we all know Professor Hawking and therefore all know how accurate a performance it was.
Julienne Moore is a massive favourite for best actress. On betfair she is about 1.03. For this reason, I think it is very profitable to lay her in that market. The reason? The Oscars board historically hate it when the media makes such strong predictions and will purposelly vote against conventional opinion, which exactly where the expression 'Oscars snub' comes from.
Anyone else got any suggestions?
