PASTY: it is a variety of the Cornish traditional meal. Was given to the miners by their wive. Legend says that one half was a meaty main and the other a desert. The miners would leave the crust for the "knockers", spirits said to create a knocking sound that was either supposed to indicate the location of rich veins of ore, or to warn of an impending tunnel collapse.
With Cornish showing many countries how to mine the pasty made its way around the world, with the recipe being adapted by everyone.
