Welcome from the Grand Casino de Barcelona where the next stop of European Poker Tour will be running soon. Everything is set up and we are waiting just for magic words “shuffle up and deal”. Tournament starts at 12:00.

My name is Paweł and I work for Polish community but in following days I will make a live reporting from Barcelona. It's my first time here, so forgive me possible mistakes

For the second time in 7 years long EPT history, Barcelona in not open a new season. Last year it was Kyiv, Ukraine and in this season, first event was taking place in Tallinn, Estonia. But it's not everything, more changes approach! Buy-in is less than before and now you can sit by the table for €5,000 + €300 (last year buy-in was €8,000 + €300). The CAP is also bigger. Because the whole event will now be taking place in an annexe of the Gran Casino at the Arts Hotel, the maximum numer of players is 1,000!

Last year's event was a great success with 478 participants and a total prize pool of €3,382,000. Carter Phillips was the one who took down the field and got his first EPT title. Young American – like Chris Moneymaker on 2003 World Series of Poker - qualified for that event (twice!) on PokerStars and then scooped massive €850 000 first prize.

Because buy-in is lower than before and there is 1000 players cap, we expect really huge field. Late registration in running up and the correct number of players will be known in few next hours.

There are some noble players in the field. I already saw Team PokerStars Pro members Daniel Negreanu and Bertrand ElkY Grospellier. We don't have a players list, so I cant tell you who will play today.

Now the tournament director has his speech and everything will start very soon. Simon is on his seat and he's ready to fight. I'm pretty sure, that his opponents don't know they have trouble, but they will soon, no doubt.

Good luck to our member Niklas "HenrikX" Toorell, who yesterday qualified to this event (one of the 6-7 he qualified for now, whereof two was both to was to PCA Bahamas ♠_o: )

At last we have heard these words. In very first hand Simon raised from the button and didn't get any action only blinds. Here are the tournament details:

Initial stack: 30 000
Blinds level: 1
Blinds: 50 / 100

Number of players: ???

Simon scooped a nice pot!

Boys and girls, good news, Simon is now over 35 000. Action folded to him on small blind and he raised with J-T. Big blind put a mini 3-bet and get called. We saw Q-9-3 on flop with two clubs and Simon checked to his opponent and after called a continuation bet. On the turn we saw 7:c and again Simon played check / call. On the last street dealer put the 8:c. Unfortunately, Simon didn't know he has J:c and again checked to his opponent. He checked too and we saw busted top pair with A-Q.

Simon: over 35 000

Simon exploits weaker players!

Simon doesn't look like normal player. He's a shark, like a wolf among lambs. He has very nice image by his table and opponents are really afraid of him! There was another nice spot scooped by the Team member. Simon always looks for weak players and wants to exploit them. He flat called a raise with K-7 and on blank flop he made a raise after continuation bet, then bet turn and opponent fold on the river.

I have found CuCbKu and he's running very good! He is up to 40 000 after two nice spots. In first one CuCbKu was on the button with A:s J:d and called a open raise from CO. Flop was 9:c 3:c 7:d and after continuation bet for 550, Team member raised with pure air to 1500. Opponent decided to call and we saw 8:c on the turn. After villian checked, CuCbKu bet 3100 and got called. In the river 6:c felt and Russian decided to make another bluff – bet 6500. Opponent folded and CuCbKu scooped a nice pot.

In second hand Team member had A-Q. Called a preflop raise and saw A-K-7 on flop. Called continuation bet and saw A on the turn. There was some action, but he doesn't remember. The river was blank and opponent checked to him and folded after small value bet.

CuCbKu: over 40 000.

Blinds UP!

We have now 2 level of blinds 75 / 150. After this short break is planned.

Now we have a downtime in the action. Simon said two words “Cards dead”, CuCbKu has the same. In this case I 've made some pictures of noble players. Enjoy!

We are back with live coverage of EPT Barcelona. Blinds are on 3rd level 100 / 200.

I've just found TeddyTheKiller (pictiure below). He has around of initial stack but he has some big action. Unfortunately, he can't tell what's happened because he doesn't want to give the information to his opponents. He has very tough opponents by his table include Team PokerStars Pro Marcin “Góral” Horecki and Full Tilt Pro Michael Tureniec.

Boys and girls, good news, our players are running very well. TeddyTheKiller has just clashed with Michael Tureniec (picture below) and won very nice pot. He had pocket rockets on UTG and raised do 500. Got 3 callers including Michael Tureniec. On the flop Q J 5 (two clubs) TeddyTheKiller bet 1250 and Full Tilt Pro was the one who called. When 9 hit the turn (no club), TeddyTheKiller fired a second barrel for 2750. Tureniec made another call and we saw blank 3 (no club) and then PokerStrategist went into deep tank. Finally he only checked to Michael who bet 3600. Teddy saw before Tureniec checking behind top two pair and now he wanted to fold his rockets but finally called. He was right, because Michael showed A-Q with top pair and top kicker.
