Hey guys.

How do you stay focused during a session? I often find my thoughts drifting to other things when I play too few tables, but at the same time my overall play is worse when I play too many. Trying to play when my wife is home is generally a critical mistake as well. :f_mad:

I usually try to play when no one is around to distract me and avoid watching TV/doing other stuff during a session. I also write down bad plays I have noticed. Right now I have the following stuck to my moniter. :f_cool:

Anyone do anything similar?

take a break if you lose focus. unfortunatly it's easier said than done.

srsly for me music helps, also trying to put people on hands i'm not involved in is a good idea.

yeh, no looking at HEM graph or bankroll.
play less tables?

oh ye, putting people on hands that you're not in is a great idea
a bit of music keeps me from getting bored

play More tables keeps you focused, but the previous tip is much better

1) music

2) breaks every 30-60 mins depending on how i feel.

3) if i feel like i dont want to play, i stop immediately.

sometimes i tile tables at one monitor,tile tables on second and make little space for movie at right corner :f_biggrin:...in most casses i listedn techno radio..it helps to stay awake :f_cool:

well when you play a long session you should get a 5 min brake evrey 1.3h, you shoulnd have anything to distract around you that includes your wife, music if necessary but no heavy metal or something like that we dont want you to play like a maniak or do we ? ^^ and focus on your goals, why do i play poker and where do i wanna get by playing poker? stuff like that ^^

i do the same with the notes on my screen!when im really in the mood to play im grand its when im not fussed and i just open a few tables and autopilot while watching tv or something. thats when u lose because ur not thinking deeply into hands....make a rule that u will only play if ur gonna sit down, blank out the world and grind the shit outa those tables!!
