Event 8 - $1,000 No Limit Hold'em
Here you will find all the updates for Event #8.
So far only MikaPaasonnen is registered in this event. The others might join him depending on how they fare in their current events.
Coverage for Day 1A will start at 3PM PST along with the restarts of events #4 and #7.
See you then!
Managed to find MikaPaasonen after walking around for a bit, but unfortunately, he was already down to just around 4bb.
He busted out a few minutes later.
Player on his right raised to 350 (50/100 blinds), Mika went all in, player to his left also goes all in and initial raiser calls.
AQs vs KK vs JJ
The 4:h K:s 8:s flop pretty much ends the hand.
Mika told me that he had a pretty sick run from the start, he lost a huge 5k pot early on. (Starting stack was 3k).
It was JJ vs TT and the flop came K T T.
Not long later, he called a raise from an aggressive player with KQ.
The flop came K T 7 with a flush fraw. Villain goes all in for 2.5x pot and Mika wasn't sure what to do but made the call.
Villain shows KK
Mika Paasonen

Scotty Nguyen was also among the 3k or so played who have so far registered for Day 1A and 1B.
Nazgul is supposed to pay this event tomorrow, Day 1B. Like today, coverage will start at 3pm.
RobbieV, Nazgul and BongBob signed up today but BongBob is already busto.
So far 4.1k have signed up in the two opening days, but late reg is still open.
Blinds are now 50/100
Nazgul 2.6k
RobbieV 2.5k
BongBob busted in a BU vs SB hand. It was QQ vs AK
Both our guys have around 8k now and its the first break
Blinds will be up to 100/200 after the break
Goin into lvl 6 now, blinds will be 100/200/25.
There's only 800 left in Day 1B, which mean's we've lost more than half of the runners today.
RobbeV has 13k
Nazgul 6.4k
Nazgul was down quite a bit but managed to triple up earlier.
EP limped, MP shortie went all in, Nazgul went all in over the top and the limper also went all in.
QQ vs J:h 9:c vs A:d 8:h and the board ran out K:c J:s Q:s 7:c J:c
RobbieV also had a nice double up, AA vs QQ, all in on a 8 high flop, villain check-raised and RobbieV went all in.
Sorry bout the late update, had dinner with Nazgul and RobbieV.
There are 600 players left in Day 1B.
RobbieV has 6k
Nazgul has 3k
Nazgul said he ran into aces 4 times in this event so far. Pretty sick.
RobbieV meanwhile was complaining about all the fat people on his table. He doesn't have enough space to sit thanks to them.
RobbieV lost a big hand to John Pham. He raised preflop and got 3/4 callers.
The flop cqme Q 9 3 rainbow, RobbieV had 99, so he c-bet. Pham raised, the rest get out of the way and RobbieV goes all in, pham tanks and calls with K:s Q:s and completed a runner runner flush with 5:s 7:s
Blinds are up again, they sure go up fast in this event. It's 200/400/50 now.
Nazgul 6k
RobbieV 5.5k
Nazgul doubled up with a suckout. AJ vs AQ
Nothing much happening for RobbieV but he's giving out lots of tips on Thailand to his table mate.
I was confused about a lot of things about this thread/event... then I realised there is a typo in the OP subject line.
Players are just finishing up their last 20 minute break of the day. One and a half more levels to go before we wrap up for Day 1B.
Blinds will be up to 300/600/75 and there are just 360 or so players left now.
RobbieV has 8k and Nazgul has 6k
RobbieV had a funny hand with John Pham. He had gone all in for 5.1k, but Pham announced raise to 1.1k meaning his chips were dead money. Another player apparently folded JJ, and Pham called off, not wanting to lose the 1.1k.

John Pham
He only had 7 9 and Robbie's A5 held up for nice double up.

Annette Obrestad has been moved to Nazgul's table

Kara Scott is on the next table
