Introduction

Hey, I'm Ruben from Belgium, 25 years old and this account was created about 3 years ago. I started out playing poker on facebook for playmoney and gave cashgames a try after I won a lot because it felt like playmoney was a waste of time. I've been playing on and off for 3 years and realised that I'm going to have to play more consistently and constantly working on my game if I want to achieve anything in poker, which I do, and that's why I'm starting this blog. I already have a blog in the dutch forums but decided to come here because it's more active -> more feedback -> more motivation to grind.

My bankroll is now 818$ and I'm currently playing on bwin 10NL. I've played 25NL succesfully before (turned 625$ into 1250$) and taken shots at 50NL, but I always ran bad there and had to move down. The last time I took a shot at 50NL, lost 5BI, and started grinding it back at 25NL I immediately hit a downswing there and started tilting and losing even more, so now I'm playing a bit overrolled on 10NL, but I like it. I think playing overrolled makes me less results-oriented and less likely to tilt, so my BRM is more conservative right now.

Here is my 10NL graph from 1 september - 31 december 2014:

Spoiler

Bankroll plan

300$ (30BI) => play 10NL, move down if less than $200 (20BI)
875$ (35BI) => play 25NL, move down if less than $625 (25BI)
2000$ (40BI) => play 50NL, move down if less than $1500 (30BI)
4500$ (45BI) => play 100NL, move down if less than $3500 (35BI)
10000$ (50BI) => play 200NL, move down if less than $8000 (40BI)

Wish you the best of luck, mate!

We are playing the same limits and have a similar bankroll, so will definitelly follow your progress, unless you'll be more successfull than me, in which case I will stop following to avoid being a jealous a**hole. :f_tongue: Just kidding, keep crushing! :f_thumbsup:

I'm not nearly playing enough hands yet to reach my volume goal of 25k per week so that's postponed for a while... it is still a goal to be able to do that eventually though. I don't have enough info yet on regs so I'm watching them play hands too often and I'm checking my pop up stats a lot to prevent making costly mistakes, which all costs time. At the moment I'm not even playing 4 fast tables yet.

New goal is 15k hands per week. I also want to finish watching w34z3l's walkthough series (just watched vid 4 today), and make notes of new concepts. I will post those notes here to remember what I have learned more completely. :f_thumbsup:

Had a short and sweet session today.

Bankroll: 1022,15$

EV Net won: 36,19$

3 new hand evaluations:
tpgk + Q high flush draw in limped pot
c/r A7cc with initiative multiway on 983cc
KK baby full house river c/c or c/r

Thanks for the support guys :f_drink:

I've been running bad (and playing bad as a result) this week. Thankfully been running a lot above EV or I'd have to drop down to nl10 again. So instead of trying to reach my volume goal I've put more time in watching video's and reading than playing. Haven't posted any hands recently but I'll post some tomorrow, I want to keep this marking & posting hands thing going.

Here's last week's results:

Bankroll: 902,47$
Hands: 10819
Net won: -14,57$
EV Net won: -219,92$

Will post hand evaluations tomorrow but here is a summary of last week:

Spoiler

If there's anything worse than getting set over set... it's getting set over set on the river.

Haven't played much this week, only a lot on friday and sunday night. I've read dusty schmidt's book "treat your poker like a business" and found it quite inspiring, but the only thing I really got out of it was that I should use my time more efficiently. Was a good read nonetheless. I've also finished watching w34z3l's walkthrough series but will probably watch it again and maybe write a summary so all that information can stay in my head a little longer _tongue:.

This week was not as bad as the last one, and I'm still running above EV. But I think I'm playing slightly better. I think I'm getting exploited by folding too much to 3bets and not second barreling enough, so those are probably my most urgent leaks to be plugged. I should also stop spewing in some spots just because I think villain can't have "it"...

Bankroll: 991,79$

I'm winning again without just relying on luck _cool:. Just played a nice session.

I'm trying to 3bet and 4bet bluff more and I can notice the difference in my redline already, making that analysis for w34z3l's redline series homework #2 was really worth it. Still watching a lot of videos atm so I'm not playing that much yet.
