So I needed somewhere to log my progress in PLO. I am currently a student, studying my A-level at college however, I love the strategy PLO provides and the action it entails. I have heard tonnes of people saying you cannot beat the rake. I think these are just players who complain about the game rather than improving their game.

The games are without doubt beatable, I just have to be better than you (general PLO2 player pool) ha, that's the truth about Poker Ecology.

About me
I work in a Casino as a poker dealer but we do not get PLO running that often, there is a very small player pool for it. I am from the United Kingdom. I will use this to log my sessions, my improvements and my learning methods.

So I began playing PLO at the beginning of June, I played a lilttle last year, maybe 1000 hands but nothing. I have played NLH in all forms, found success in Spin n Go's and MTT Sit n Go's (mostly regular speed).

Hopefully I will run miles above EV and move up in stakes as quickly as possible. I have also enrolled in the Get Rich or Dye Tryin' Bankroll challenge.

Cheers. :f_drink:

So I played my first 3k hands very quickly, pretty much all in one day on 6 tables (No zoom)
My play was decenti'ish. I played solid for around 6 hands, at which point I began to drink, bad idea, quickly went back to even. Not due to bad beats, due to me pushing all in with hands like AKQJ run downs against tight nits who are only 4 bet shoving AAxx which is just not clever.

Spoiler

Onwards and upwards though.

p.s. I have saved a few imaged from PT4 just to stay ahead of the curve in case I don't post for a while.

Poker
So from my 3K hands, I played a session in which God did not run as hot. Over this session I was beating the game for 300bb/100 hands. Just insane, I love an upswing haha. I hit quads once, never didn't have the nut house. Easy when poker is like that. _biggrin:

By the way, if anyone knows how to embed images that would be really helpful [resolved]

Poker Progress
So my lifetime so far is looking good. I am happy with it, disregarding the blip I had on the drunken session.

I realise I have a long way to go and will have a much clearer picture of what will happen in another 50k hands or so. Hopefully, if I remain on this trajectory I will be at 10PLO.

Cheers Laz, what is the best way for posting hands, getting suits shown etc. I copied history from PT4 but it looks shabby. I am used to the 2p2 hand history converter is all haha.

General Rambling
PLO is on hold at the minute, Exams for the next two days and I need to get back to work. Being a 0 hour dealer is good when I want a break but I am missing some hours, I won't have been to work for 2 weeks come this weekend.

Hate this requirement for 300 posts on the forums before I can be required for Staking. I understand it is fair and I need to give to the community before it gives back to me but it is going to take a while. Gives me an excuse to log my progress. The only issue is I am only aware of Tim64 Sit n Go staking which is something I thoroughly enjoy; 45 man regulars and Spin n Go's however, I am really focusing on my PLO game at the minute.

Exam went well I believe, I shall be back to PLO as of tomorrow night when the fish come out to play. Think I will just 4 table zoom for a couple thousand and then move to regular depending on how it is going.

Poker - Joined a PLO conversation/study group too :profit:
Very happy to be apart of a group I can talk PLO to at pretty much anytime as there are people from all sorts of time zones. Stakes ranging from micros to 200PLO too. Very good comparing value ranges and bluff ranges and how to balance.

Obviously balancing is not as important in the micros, especially when I want to exploit players when I am only 4 tabling non zoom games but moving up it will definitely need to be considered.

Poker - Progress
So when I am not playing at the minute I feel like it is obviously beneficial for me to extend my knowledge in PLO. I am watching Shuller A1t's twitch streams, can be downloaded here. He had a challenge to beat 10PLO to 100PLO zoom in a couple of months, the challenge was stopped short but thats because he proved it very quickly. He of course is a midstakes crusher but I am taking notes on his micro sessions.

- When he is 3 betting
- What position he is 3 betting
- What hands are 3 betting
- Boards to C-bet, Boards to avoid c-betting

I find that I learn much better with application so I will take notes and then adjust some parts of my game gradually.

If you want to see the challenge the link is here

General Rambling

- Life wise I am aiming for at least 4 hours of revision a day up until the 18th when I finish.
- Wanting to exercise more, get back to Rugby after these exams are over.
- Get sorted for going on hols on the 19th _drink:

Maybe it works better if you convert the Pokertracker hand history to a converter like weaktight. Maybe it looks than better.

Further I wish you all the best with you’re PLO adventure.

Glad that the player pool are so passive. If I am UTG (middle guy), on that flop he has a tonne of equity, but just calls calls calls.

Poker - Hand Review, this splits opinion.
What is your action here? Check flop, Bet/Get it in
Villain is rediculous player, over a small sample I have been in 5 hands with him, he 3 bet every hand and went to showdown in all of them with aimless aggression.

So tomorrow I am going to play some MTTs. Nanostakes turbos. I think I am going to play all of the $0.11 & $0.27 MTT's and add in some $0.25 90 man regulars. I'm going to risk 10% of my current Bankroll which stands at $54.75 currently

So I just checked my cash game history and for the first time in a very long time I am back in the black! (+$10), these are pennies but it means a lot to know I am progressing.

Just looking at my progress in SNG's, I am an avid payer of the 45 and 90 man regulars as well as a few $1 spins, and it looks good over lifetime but it is a very small sample. I feel like I should play the 50c turbo 45 and 90s but I have tried and i am not quite sure what I do wrong but I just don't match my ROI anywhere near as good as the regular tables. Obviously you have longer to pick spots on regular tables but I think I shove fine around 10bb so I would expect the odd cash in turbos but nothing really.

Just finished the first stint of MTT's, played well I think. Cashed 1 so far and bubbled the other around 230'ish with :Ax::Kx: < :Ax::Qx: and the flop comes down :Qx::Kx:x:Qx: X(
