Hey guys,
It's been a while since I have wanted to try and start taking my poker game serious and since the beginning of 2016 I was battling with some changes in my life and trying to get everything together and organized so I could start this Blog.
So, with no further ado, I introduce my bankroll challenge and starting blog:
Spoiler
My name is Helton Costa, I am a 25 years old recently graduated Mechatronics Engineer living in Brasilia, Brazil.
I first started playing poker on high school with some friends, we used to gather around at one of my friends house and play cash game for some medicre money, just for the fun of it. We used to play from 11am to 11pm, when it was time for us to gather the money we have won and go have some fun out with other friends.
This kept going for a while and somewhat between my high school and college I stopped playing this beautiful game because I had no time left.
On my third year of college I made some friends that were also in to the game and I got right back on that horse, unfortunately, not for long.
I got a study scholarship to live for one year on the Netherlands, which was one of the best experiences of my whole life, and then, when I got back to Brazil, it was time for me to graduate and take college seriously so I could finish it on time.
Right now I am working full time on a IT company, developing websites and apps for some clients. This is really time consuming and exausting, and somedays I just have to deliver a project and have to stay extra hours on the job, but It's ok, I enjoy it ![]()
Since I finished college I've been wanting to play poker again and try to make a living or something close to it out of it, but since I haven't played it for a long time, I took some time getting used back to the game by studying some of the articles here on pokerstrategy, some books, watching some streams and of course, playing.
Now that I feel confortable with it again, lets start this challenge!! ![]()
None. That's it.
Since the beginning I wanted to try n see if I could build a bankroll without making a deposit.
Instead, I signed up for a account at 888poker from where I got $2 and a few tickets for some tourneys. From there, I was able to increase my bankroll, playing only a few times a month, to $7.15.
This is the amount of money I am starting this BR Challenge with.
If I fail, OK, we can deposit and try again. If not, GREAT! (:
As you can imagine, STT's.
I intend to play only 10 players turbo STT's until I have enough BR to mix in some other types of games.
The smallest BI for turbo STT's com 888poker is 10cents, and that's where I am starting.
I plan to play around 5 times a week, 4 hour for each session. This makes approximately 35 STT's per session.
So, that would lead to 175 STT's each week and 700 monthly.
No. The only software I'm using right now is ICMTrainer and some excel sheets to keep my data organized.
- Yearly goal: at least $1,5k of profit.
- Play at least 10k STTs in one year.
- reach Iron Status until 2nd week.
- reach Chrome Status until the end of 1st month.
- maintain at least 5%+ ROI.
- study at least 2 times per week. 1 day for strategy and the other for session review.
I think it's about it.
I really hope this blog helps me improve my game and I appreciate any criticism or tip anyone can give me regarding either the blog or my poker strategy, plays, tournaments, hourly rate..., just ANYTHING! :f_drink::f_drink::f_drink:
