No, at Bet365 you don't need to deposit. Follow the download instructions (so that you're tracking works) and then you can participate in the tournament.

i put a thread in the beginers questions but everyone ignored me lol. i tried to download bet365 through pokerstrategy but when i click download software or download now whatever it says it just refreshes the page and doesnt bring up the download box.

can i just go straight to bet365's site and download from them direct and just use the PS code or do i have to use the link too?

Account must be tracked at pokerstrategy. This means you had to use the Pokerstrategy bonus code when creating an account at bet365.

Just follow these download guides and then you have a tracked account. Just leave out the Step "Deposit", if you don't want to make Deposit and get therefor the FDP.
