Ok, firstly song of today:

So today i'm pretty much wasted so excuse me for all the gramatical errors i'll make.

Wish i could post a song from new UNKLE album "Ablivion" which is insaneli awesome and reminds me a bit of tv series "dexter" which is awesome too. If you haven't watched Dexter i highly recmomend it, first and second season totally owns, third and fourt are kind of meh but the ending of fourt saves it imo. It's about serial killer cop dexter.

As for poker i haven't played too much lately because i had to study for exams. Today i had a quite long session where i took some guy for 7 buy ins or so but lost a lot vs luck box fish so in the end i guess i made some money but not really sure how much because i don't look at my cashier since it shouldn't matter to me. Anyway i'm pretty happy with the way i've played since i started the blog and don't recall making some HUGE mistakes, though there are a lot of small ones. Wish i could post some hands but i guess i'll leave it to later blog posts, don't have power for that now.

One thing that bothers me is that the days when i play poker after sessions i can'tr switch off the poker mode and so i end up thinking about hands i've played even when i have to sleep which brings some concentration problems when i have to do other things. Wish i could know the way to turn it off. Anyway, that's it for now, hopefully next blog post of mine gonna be when i'm not wasted.

Seriously, GL in your ventures and one serious question: how different HU SNG and HU CG is? I've been playing HU SNG's (lowstakes, $11 turbos mostly), didn't get too much trouble in them, but how does the tactics change when the blinds never go up?

One thing that bothers me is that the days when i play poker after sessions i can'tr switch off the poker mode and so i end up thinking about hands i've played even when i have to sleep which brings some concentration problems when i have to do other things.

+1, instead of sleeping I analyse my hands, but I guess it's standard for any JOB if you CARE about it and are COMMITED.

Seriously, GL in your ventures and one serious question: how different HU SNG and HU CG is? I've been playing HU SNG's (lowstakes, $11 turbos mostly), didn't get too much trouble in them, but how does the tactics change when the blinds never go up?
Well i never really was a HUSNGS grinder so i'm not the best person to compare these two, main difference is obv the blind depth, the deeper the blinds the more skill there is involved and while in husngs the further you play in match the shallower stacks get the opposite is frequently true about CG. But basically just adjust to your opponent and you'll do fine. ihufa could probably say more in depth about the differences between HU Sng and CG.
Fwiw, don't be afraid to try it out yourself, just watch few vids before and you'll do fine. For the beginners dog is heads up is prob the best video series there is.

Since my results oriented side defeated me and i checked my results today i might as well post some stuff in here.

Here's a graph with my results since the beginning of blog:

Not too good, but not too bad i guess, it basically feels like break even since it's so easy to lose it all back playing tough competition. My red line basically shows the parts where i play vs fish or regs, vs regs it tends to go up / break even or be slightly negative and vs fish it goes down like crazy.

The fast upswing at around 3.7k hands was when i found some reg sitting at the table with a bit over 600 and decided to take a shot at him. After a bit over 100 hands he left and i was now the one sitting at the table with a bit over 700$ stack, KING IN THE CASTLE BABY!! ♦

While for the most part i felt like i ran bad overall i also did cooler the hell out of one good player so i guess i can't complain on that.

Overall i'm ok with the way i played for the most part, though in the heat of the moment i made some bad calls that i would've folded if i stopped to think for a bit more but oh well.

As for posting up some HH's, not rly sure what to post, didn't make some huge hero calls. Here's one recent hand that was a bit less standard and looks fun:

I haven't played much poker since last update and to be honest haven't done much at all even while having plenty of time. The reason for that is because last few months i pretty much always feel tired of everything/burned out, my body hates me as well. i haven't exercised much since started playing poker and so become weak and couldn't do even something as simple as ten pull ups.

Some beginner poker players say something like: "i'll suffer for few years without life and commit myself to making money" commitment is nice and all but after a while you will firstly start hating poker, then yourself and not only your results will be worse than it could be, you won't be as happy as you could and won't put as much volume as you should.

As an example let's take two people, one of them is named John and another one is named Maumas, both of them are friends and suddenly both decided to start weightlifting (get themselves pumped). John goes to gym 3 sometimes 4 times a week and does all exercises in about an hour, he knows his current limits and doesn't try lifting bigger weights than he can lift. He eats healthy food and let's his body to recover. He doesn't rush things, for everything it's own time.

Now Maumas is different, he goes to gym every day, lifts weights heavier than he should which leads to exercises being done incorrectly. Maumas frequently feels burned out, but hey.. all for good cause! EYE OF THE TIGERRRRRR!!!!!!!11

Few months has passed and John has progressed greatly while Maumas not so much. Maumas feels angry about how greatly John has improved and blames it all on genes while in reality it's all because of lack of balance in Maumas life.

Same concept applies to poker, so don't rush things and find balance, don't be Maumas!

I'll try to do that as well.

Played a bit today, was planning on battling out with one reg who challenged me few days ago but for some reason he didn't want to play now. Oh well.. So decided to open my own tables and wait for fish, it takes so much time to get the fish even at nl100 it tilts me so fkn hard, after like 5 minutes some random sit at my table, i raised first hand he open shoved and sit out. sfuhvpisdbgilfuvgsbdui!!!!!!!!

10 more minutes of waiting and finally few beautiful fishes sit at my table, one of them won few bucks and left, another dumped me few buy ins before leaving. Some bumhunter also decided to take a shot at me dumped a bi or so and left so i guess i finished session up like 3/4 buy ins. Not gonna be checking my cashier/HEM for at least two weeks now unless sick run bad comes.

I feel like i wrote lots of crap in this post but i guess that's what blogs are for so w/e.

Pretty much as nfss said, the main difference is in HUsng, most of the play is about 50-20 bbs... which is completely different from playing 100bbs deep.

However, theres not as big of a difference between HUsngs/HUcash as there is between.. fr or 6max sngs/cash games, because since it is winner take all, chip EV=$EV, unlike in regular sngs where this isn't true. So i'd say the transition would be easier someone going from sngs- 6max/fr cashgames, but still the difference in stack sizes is there.

^^^ That's true, but if you bumhunt (what i'd recommend to do for beginning cash players especially at nl50) the effective stacks usually are at best 75bb and get deeper only if fish gets lucky. So in the end it's not that much different.

Recently i've found something that was forgotten and burried for the last few years in my closet.

At the moment i suck at playing guitar and sound like some drunk crazy Scandinavian. So i have lots to learn!

As for poker.. Played some, won some. On slow internet connection atm so can't play much because i keep disconnecting.

FTP, lots of bumhunters here too, usually people who play higher too tend to play w anyone at nl100 so if you find a guy who sits at nl100/nl200/nl400 tables he's most likely gonna give you action.

People say there's a lot more reg vs reg action on party poker and also it has king of the hill HU system so you might want to try it out, i was considering moving here too.

What's this King of the hill thing?

Amount of possible tables is capped (not sure how big cap on party is) and if person sits out he quite quickly gets kicked out of the table and can't rejoin for a while.

Now poker stuff. Nothing new actually, did play only ~19 hours but i moved to another poker room and was getting action from regs very easily in the beginning which was probably mostly because of new SN + clean PTR + my fishy style and because of that i ended up playing 100% regs. I'm pretty confident in my HU game now and feel like i've had an edge on pretty much anyone i've played for the last two months after i've had my "aha" moment. I find it hard putting it into words tho.

That's all about poker now.

A bit about life, today i finally bough a car and am enjoying it so far, but unfortunately i figured out that my final project presentation is in two weeks and guess what, i didn't even start doing it yet. So i guess the rest of this month will be no sun/fun/poker. But after that i'm a free man and gonna try to enjoy living much more and do whatever comes to my head + rape souls at poker, get soul raped, return stronger, repeat.
