Bonjour! Monte Carlo is awesome.

I arrived thursday noon after another night of no sleeping, this time it was Simon "Schnibl0r" Münz who had just finished 1st in the $109+R 6max on Pokerstars for 32k, winning his first online tournament ever.
Simon: "So how does this work, do I take a screenshot now?"

I had no plans of sleeping though. Me and Schnibl0r just walked through the city for a couple of hours, and went to check out the poker tournament venue.

Monte Carlo is like the perfection location for a computer game. It's got small streets and corners everywhere. Everything is built platform like and there are stairs and elevators everywhere to get from one street to another. I constantly felt like I was missing only an AK-47 in my hand.

So Simon and I walked into the venue which was not at all set up yet. There was only one guy walking around, not doing much work and the only thing which filled the room where a few chairs. It's really sick to realize they set up the whole thing in just 1 day. Even though I had never been there before, somehow the empty tournament area made a big impression on me.

The thing about a labyrinth city is, you can get lost very easily. It can take you 5 minutes to get somewhere, but it can also take you 2 hours. Unless you enjoy walking in circles and doing a lot of unnecessary steps, I suggest you keep it to a maximum of 2 beers the first night you go out here.

Yesterday I went to do some sight seeing with dutch pokernews reporters Frank and Remko. We saw some really sick buidling which was built into the cliffs of Monaco. And... we did a lot of stairs.

Walking around the small, middle age alike, oldest streets of Monaco we ran into some gamblers. A few coocks and waiters from the restaurants nearby were throwing 1 euro coins to a specific stone in the ground. The closest one won the pot but if your coin was lying on the stone you were out. Husstled myself into losing 2 euros from these guys.

Oh yeah, and I'm huge fan of Formula 1. Just beeing able to walk around the circuit was a huge experience for me.

That's it for now.
I'm going to get ready to follow Pokernoob during the Heads-Up tournament which starts in 90 minutes.
See you then!

wow, nice city! thank you for the pics :)

Ok I arrived at the venue.
I like it here.
Everything is quite new, for me here so just give me a few moments to explore the area, take some pictures of the guys playing and so on.

Media Room is "not completely" set up yet
I don't want to think about how much I'm gonna go up and down these stairs.
Team pokerstars pro Ruben Visser joined us last night for dinner. He's a good player in my opinion and I really like his views on poker.

Philb0rt lost his first match.
He got it in with ATs vs KK in the last hand and lost.

You need to win two matches to make it to the next round (best of 3).

Pokernoob and Schnibl0r are both behind.
With blinds being 100/200 already the stacks are no bigger then 50bb at this point.

Actually they're not (that much) behind at all.
All 4 players have about 10k in front of them which is 50bb now.
