Phil Ivey is imo the best all around player...

Cash games: Phil Ivey or Tom Dwan.

Tournaments: Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth. Gus is decent too but probably not the best. You know; the small ball specialists.

Negreanu and Hellmuth are horrible in cash games. Think of them as the players who are best at beating bad players. Put them against good players and they lose all their superpowers.

LOL Jamie Gold. Sadly I think he might even be better than Joe Cada.

On a side note, a lot of main event winners lately are complete donks. It makes me sick.

I believe Tom Dwan is the best player in the world, Phil Ivey a close second.

I rate Negreanu for his hand reading abilities though :)

there is nothing as over rated as Negreanu hand reading abilities :)

And Joe Cada is a successful HU player... that pretty much explains his aggression on the wsop :) and well he got lucky but he's not as bad as some people claim he is..

Tom Dwan is only good at NLHE Cash Game.. So I don't really see how someone can say he's the best poker player.

I think its Phil Ivey.

He masters both tours and cash-game at the highest-level.

I'm going to say Phil Ivey in both, he's up £18m in cash on FT which I believe is more than anyone, he also plays a lot less than most, I'll also bet he'll have more WSOP braclets than anyone in a few years if he wants it enough.

Although many refuse to admit it, Tom Dwan is quickly becoming one of the best at MTTs too. Although no wins yet, he has some very deep runs and will soon break the no-bracelet-streak. When it comes to cash games he is only second to Phil Ivey but he can still surpass him in a few years. Not only at NLHE, but PLO and mix games too. I'm really looking forward to Ivey vs Durrrr HU for 50k hands!

So, Ivey's no.1, Dwan second. But there are so many great players that it's really hard to compare them. I guess Dwan is second just because he made shitloads of money faster than everyone else.

Negreanu is one of the best in the world, but if you put him in a NL or PL game at the table with Dwan, Ivey and Antonius he'll get crushed crushed crushed!! Negreanu makes money of PokerStars, Phil Hellmuth and the loose cannon on TheBigGame.

One thing to keep in mind though is that when the greatest play each other it's more to prove their skills. They make money from worse players, drunk fishy rich people and sponsorship deals.
