Leaving Bottom of the Barrel through Bankroll Challenge

Welcome back. Have not used KKPoker but if it doesn't offer hh import through app or support request or perhaps copy-paste then one lousy way is to use screen captures.

One option is to define point of taking shots to next buyin level. Like I take shot to next if I get to 50bin of current limit and fall back of I lose enough to have less than 30bin in current limit. So in case of NL2 we would move to NL4 on 100$ and back to NL2 if going below 60$. Of course you can have also more aggressive BRM if new deposit is fine option.

What I would recommend is to first take just one table from the higher limit. That way it doesn't affect as much into BRM and swings you might face. So less stress than playing all tables on next limit in one jump.

I am already playing on KKPoker almost since they started operating (I was the one responsible for implementing them as partners here, hence I tested them out before).
I did some blog posts about hands in the spanish forum and it does work out well with screnshots. In the end the software is intended to first and foremost be fun and easy to use. If this means to sacrifice hand export, it also means that there are no trackers and no data miners, meaning everyone has the same chances at the table.
Especially with the 1-year promo that they started now, you'll be able to get good value from the grind there!

Last two weeks have been a pretty mixed experience. 1-year promo missions got me doing those 2,5k hands at flash tables and they ended pretty badly on the minus. On the other hand I have been playing 2 NL2 and 1 NL4 regular tables and there I am still going green. For future plans I will be sticking to regular tables. Bankroll currently sits at 101,5 dollars, as I bought that 30 dollar MTT daily ticket pack. Seemed like a good value getting 60 dollars worth of tickets for 30, but maybe I was just victim of marketing. More about those MTT experiences in future post after we have full picture on what kind of return those tickets gave all in all.

For this update I also had couple of hands to talk about. On first one I guess the lesson was to learn to give up on pocket aces at times, even though they hit neither straight or flush.

On the second hand I hit the perfect flop, but the opponent keeps calling and gets extremely lucky. Were half-pot bets good enough on extracting value on what was nuts on flop, or should I have been doing something differently? Also in hindsight I should have respected paired up board on river and not shoved on his bet but just called it?

Last two weeks have been pretty quiet and only managed 3k hands on a slightly losing record. Bankroll has dipped below starting point at $99,43 now (MTTs weren't for me, that $30 MTT ticket pack only brought back $10, wiping bankroll progress made from NLH). Goal for next two weeks would be to play a bit more actively, so let's aim for 6k hands at least and see if we can bring winning form back.

This week I was sucked into world of PLO5, which is is the only form of Omaha available on KKPoker. Player base doesn't seem to be very high at micros, since most of the time there is only one $2 bin table and one $4 bin table going on. Despite that results have been very pleasing and bankroll currently sits at $128,15.

Due to the lack of activity on KKPoker I remembered I had $27 still lying on GGPoker and played there some PLO5 outside bankroll challenge and there is definitely more activity and players in general just seem crazy at times. Results were still very positive and even got lucky with their promotions.

Very good feeling getting challenge back on track.

Another two weeks gone, time for an update. And perhaps it's best to start by clarifying I haven't thrown bankroll management to wind, by PLO5 I meant 5 card omaha.

Week 8 of the challenge went great, making some nice progress towards the goal.

Week 9 was also going nicely but had a bit of a sour end, not just due to results but having hard time finding any games this weekend.

Anytime I would login this weekend I find something like this and would really like to get at least two tables going if I'm going to sink my time on poker. Hopefully things return to being at least a little bit more active next week.

Well, good news this Sunday. Challenge got completed with surprise windfall. Starting bankroll of $100 now sits comfortably above the target of $500 at $735,24.

Challenge rolled along nicely with 5 card omaha, but..

So I managed to get $10 tournament ticket from one of those daily freerolls and used it on this Sundays $5k PKO MTT. Was running nicely for a long time at chip lead but managed to fumble myself just before final table, entering it 7/8 with 9BB. One nice double kept me alive and eventual winner busted out everyone else while I kept waiting for any hands as smallest stack and got very lucky but hopeless heads up.

From a free ticket to almost winning the tourney - I guess it takes a lot of patience with all the loose players on KK.

Bankroll currently sits at $833,30. KKPoker lately added 5-card-omaha to their MTTs as well, where so far I have been regular final table visitor, but still looking for that big trophy..

Seems like KKPoker also noticed the reducing amount of action in PLO5 lately and came up with new event.

Rather than putting dollar goal amounts for new target, let's just try to make most out of this event and I'll return by Christmas to update bankroll situation.
