Hi everyone my name is Marius and i am a recreational poker player from Romania. I play poker recreational from 2010 on Pokerstars, i started with cash games and in the last years i played mainly tournaments. I decided to enter the Bankroll Challenge to see how far can i go. This is my second challenge, the first one was some years back when i decided to go from 0$ to 1000$ after i follow Andre Coimbra Challenge.

So my plan is to reach $1000.:f_thumbsup:

Starting Bankroll is $36.48

I plan to devide my bankroll like this:

For Cash Games NL2 i go with $30 playing Short Stack Strategy that is 37 Buy-ins

And the other $6.48 will be used for playing $0.20 Pokerstars Poker School Tournaments and climb the monthly leaderboard

I will also play some freerolls in the special Romanian section that are currently running every day until the end of the year with final table player receiving:
1st place $109 Sunday million ticket
2nd place $22 mini Sunday million ticket
3rd - 9th $11 Sunday Storm tickets

*I will not add to the bankroll the tickets won but i will add on the results from those tournaments.*

Since i have a job too I will try and update this blog every Monday. So let get to it. :f_thumbsup:

I wouldn't beat yourself on the head.
Yeah, it might have been a bit ambitious, but it is over with.

Best of luck :gl: in the $22

So guys, like i said, I would like to update you guys every Monday. This last week i played until Thursday and knowing that i will be away for the weekend on Thursday i tried to play around 800 hands in one session witch was not a good idea :D so from now on i decided to play smaller sessions with breaks between them . ( like 300 hands with half a hour break )

So Last week was like this:

Cash Games at NL2

Starting bankroll: $30.00
Current Bankroll: $35.66

Tournaments

Starting Bankroll: $6.48
Current Bankroll: $6.95

On Sunday i managed to use my $22 Mini Sunday Million ticket finishing 3264 from 7740 players.

This week i plan to play a lot more hands. :f_thumbsup:

wow, what do you need to do to get into that leaderboard? did not have the stars software open recently but on your limits getting most points seems hard because of the amount of players.

You have to play cash games at any limit and the first 300 hands count to the Leaderboard. It refresh every day.

Hello guys, I need your advice. I play MSS at NL2. After a hard day yesterday i want to ask you for advice. Before i moved to tournament poker i used to play NL5, NL10 ( like 500 000 hands ) and yesterday after a bad poker day at NL2 and like 6 hours brake I played some hands at NL5.

This was one of the many hands that made me think if i should still play NL2. UTG played every hand.

PokerStars - $0.02 NL - Holdem - 7 players
Hand converted by Holdem Manager 3

Hero (MP): $1.13 (56.5 bb)
CO: $5.01 (250.5 bb)
BTN: $2.10 (105 bb)
SB: $2.00 (100 bb)
BB: $1.97 (98.5 bb)
UTG: $2.26 (113 bb)
UTG+1: $0.63 (31.5 bb)

SB posts $0.01, BB posts $0.02

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.03) Hero has A♠: A♥:
fold, UTG+1 calls $0.02, Hero raises to $0.10, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.23, 2 players) 4♠: 3♥: 6♥:
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.15, UTG+1 raises to $0.53 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.38

Turn: ($1.29, 2 players) 6♦:

River: ($1.29, 2 players) 7♦:

Results: $1.29 pot ($0.05 rake)
Final Board: 4♠: 3♥: 6♥: 6♦: 7♦:

UTG+1 shows 3♠: 6♠:: (Full House, Sixes full of Threes)
(Pre 19%, Flop 69%, Turn 95%)

Hero shows A♠: A♥:: (Two Pair, Aces and Sixes)
(Pre 81%, Flop 31%, Turn 5%)

UTG+1 wins $1.24

This graphs are from yesterday. From the hand #980 i started play NL5

I know this is a downswing and that at one point we all have them, i had my share :f_biggrin:

What i want to ask you guys is since Pokerstars does not allow more then 4 tables at a time on the same limit, i was thinking of playing two tables of NL2 and two at NL5. What do you guys think about that? Current Bankroll for cash games is $42.73 and i'am playing MSS with $0.80 buy-in at NL2 (53 buy-ins) and $2.0 at NL5 (21 buy-ins). I was thinking that if i get under 30 buy-ins for NL2 i would stop playing NL5 and re-build my bankroll.

I am taking a brake today and wait for your guys advices. Thank you.

To be able to answer your question, I would need to know what this money means to you.
It is a significant difference if you just deposited a couple of bucks from your huge inheritance or if that is all you could spare for Poker.
The more important preserving BR is, the more conservative you should be.

If I am assuming after 42$ there would be no reload, I would instantly only play NL2. If those 42$ were part of "that is what I could deposit once a month if things go wrong", then I'd probably even think of playing NL5 for the experience only.

First thank you very much for your reply. That money are made from freerolls on Stars. I haven't deposit anything for couple of years. I have a job in IT so playing poker for me is a hobby. But i am motivated for this challenge that i entered.....i don't like to fail. =)

Weekly update no.2

This week was a lot like a roller-coaster :f_biggrin: ending with me analyzing my game a lot. It started well, then on Thursday i had a rough day ending with me tilting and in need of a break. But until the end of the week everything was good. I managed to go through the sessions i played and see that i was making a lot of mistakes and played unnecessary hand, but most i saw that i could not gave up (fold) a hand once i haven't improved on the flop. I saw that i was trying to bluff and try to make my opponents fold. I need to improve my post-flop game a lot.

So this is how this last week was:

Cash Games:

Starting Bankroll : $30.00
Last weeks Bankroll : $35.66
Current Bankroll : $50.28
Profit : $14.62
Hand Played : 3827

Tournaments:

Starting Bankroll : $6.48
Last week Bankroll : $6.95
Current Bankroll : $7.38
Profit : +0.43$

* On the tournaments i have two $1.10 tickets that I can use to qualify to the $55 Big 20 Finale.

Let's hope this next week is better. Good luck at the tables! :f_thumbsup:

Weekly Update no.3

Hello guys, big update this week. The past week i had hard time balancing my life outside poker and the time spent at the tables. On the evenings (8 PM EEST) i tried to play the regulars tournaments and when i finished them i had a half hour break and then moved to some cash games tables for like 3-4 hours ending the night around 4 AM EEST and then going to work at around 9 AM. This schedule had me playing tired at the cash games tables and make a lot of mistakes, so taking this under consideration i decided to move my Bankroll and play only tournaments (since for the last few years i was playing tournaments exclusive).

So here is this last week result (22.11 - 28.11) :

Cash Games:

Starting Bankroll : $30.00
Last week Bankroll : $50.28
Current Bankroll without bonus : $38.23

This week i managed to finish in the money cash money LeaderBoards for NL2 and NL5 and opened my chest from the Progression Bar and received some cash back ($5.17):

So taking this in consideration this week cash game Bankroll is:

Current Bankroll : $38.23 + $5.17 = $43.40
Profit: -$6.88

Tournaments :

Starting Bankroll : $6.48
Last Week Bankroll : $7.38
Current Bankroll : $14.86
Number of tournaments : 40
Profit: + $7.51

* On tournaments i have 3 x $1.10 tickets that i can use to qualify to the $55 Big 20 Finale. I also have 2 Big 20 satellite Finale Freeroll entry for opening my progression chests.
