soooo,
lets get back to business

had a few great days away from the tables, still studied some plo, created myself a few chartlike images as notes to focus on in addition to my short gameplan that i've been updating over the course of the last challange. my understanding for the game of plo for sure made a few jumps during this first luckbox run to 500$+ and i am very curious if i am able to expand on this and maybe become actually decent or even good at this game and all of its aspects.

On non poker related topics
life has been quite good aswell, currently want to build a house on some old family land in a very beautiful spot here in Mostar, its a mountain near the spring of a river, so its not the most easy place to build in and already 20trucks of rocks, earth and bushes were moved to create a surface to build on. The planning phase also is closer to a finish, guy from cadastre was there and seems will get the needed buildingpermit in a not too long time period (in a country like bosnia&herzegovina these things can take forever if you don't have a good contractor with the right connections or having those connections yourself)
So knocking on wood, latest next year around this time should be able to sit at the pool of my new home, with my dogs having a big space outside to run around all day long and eating eggs for breakfast from my own chickens.

In Business i made the 2nd or 3rd biggest deal i've made in the ~13-14 years of my workinglife with a turnaround-volume of a bit more than 300k$ which is awesome for a small company like mine and for sure takes the edge off a bit. This deal is back to back and requires little work on my part, but in warehouse there is still quite a few projects for me to do regardless and these i need to finish in the next 3 month to be able to move my company closer to home in time without horrendous moving cost. (need to get it down to 1 truckload instead of right now ~8....). Shouldn't be too hard to do, but is a very important step for me to take to increase future life ev.
Also this will enable me to go for a nice vacation trip to germany in july together with my fiance (including a wedding of a dear friend, a week at the seaside in croatia and some interesting stops in slovenia / austria / south germany) and due to work i didn't have many of those without carrying a lot of work with me in the last 14 years.... So again *knocking on wood*
Already "see" the punches coming that will knock me down again(as this is just how it goes in my experience), but always a good moment to feel that you are on top with a sense of realisticly being able to achieve what you are set out to do.

The next challange
As you guys know this has been on my mind since the end of the first challange and have put some thought to it. So lets lay out the basic targets, have decided to keep it simple and fun without putting too much pressure on myself. I got a proper software to track progress and extract hands to post in a decent format insted of screencaps from gg....

1) 500$ to 5000$
2) post minimum of 2 hands from the session befor
3) read up on my notes and spend a minimum of 15 minutes meditating befor going to the tables

3) being the added outside of poker learningexperience and i am curious about the effects once i understand enough about it and do it "properly"

decided against the sports asepect because i don't think it would be smart to do this as a kind of effort/reward situation, where sports is the effort and poker the reward. Its a topic i will work on seperate from here and will just try to more often go jogging with my dogs for now. Also i couldn't find my fitbit thingy that would've made it possible to track any progress so... well maybe in the next challange?^^

All thats left to say is, i will be posting when heading to the tables later and thanks to everyone who reads this! The support here and the whole dynamic turned poker into a very fun hobby for me that i am excited to continue in.

------------------------------------------------------
20 days - challange complete

Hands played : 33403
Profit: $+511,90
BR: $531,90

Whats next? ^^
------------
A good friend of mine suggested to join the fray here, since i just started a small BR Challage on my twitch channel.

Started out as a kind of low stakes sng reg back in the day and used my winnings to pay my student bills, so never really climbed up any limits but always enjoyed playing, then life happend, started working full time in the recycling industry about 12-13 years ago.
6 years ago i left germany and founded my own recycling company in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
If you are interested in more of this story feel free to let me know, but this is about poker so for now lets get to that.

2 years ago poker got me "back", MTTs peaked my interest and time allowed it to play, so i did, will post a short graph of my endavors there.
Time got tricky again, i cashed out most, put the money in crypto and some on ggpoker and stars. When i had time played on ggpoker and did quite ok for a while but lost most of my BR there, which was small to begin with, so i didn't mind too much :)
Anyhow fast forward to today - i have time at my hands again, i enjoy streaming (also other games besides poker) but the amount of time you need to invest in MTTs is just not very practical for me.
My fiance and two dogs are not too happy when i can't stop playing for 10 hours straight, so from time to time i already peaked of to zoom/rush tables, but holdem cash game just felt too boring compared to MTTs.
So i came over to PLO and it just feels fun to me, which is the main reason why i am playing. Basically i am a very causual player overall that has i think a decent but for sure not professional understanding when it comes to Poker.
Yesterday I dedicated 20$ of my BR to PLO - starting out on GGPokers Rush 0,01/0,02$ as part my streaming endavors. Today my friend maniac who is also a ps.de-coach suggested to sign up my challange here aswell, since i am tracking my progress anyway and every hand can be viewed on my stream.

Intention is to stream almost daily as far time allows it and climb through the ranks to the best of my abilites.
At the moment i assume its far more likely for me to go broke instead of climbing, since my theory knowledge related to PLO is quite limited, but hey, you miss every shot you don't take :)
This is why i also immediatley jumped on the idea of posting here, as i'd like to browse more, look up hands and expand my knowledge coming to PLO as long as the challange runs.

The Challange:
BR: 20$
Goal: 500$
Game: PLO Rush (GGpoker)

So far played 2days and ~3k hands, went up to 41$ (graph below aswell)

Besides Poker i have quite a few other projects mostly related to further explore and show the beautiful Balkans to the world.
more on this on in the following days as weather is getting nice again, a sneak peak for anyone interested is here
Its a bit slow and boring and have learned quite a bit since then, so the next ones will be better i hope, but it just was the first video i ever edited

If any of this peaked your interest make sure to tune in also on GermanOnBalkans - it makes my day when people join and enjoy the stream

Welcome to blogging and "dark side" as they tend to say.

That QQJ2ss is actually interesting hand. Pre is fine to defend BB though from SB I would fold. But flop is crucial point. In general I would aim to x-r flop but depends on CO. Issue with donk bet is that outside of pairing or non diamond 2, 3, 4 or 5 turn we are not too happy with turn cards. Meaning our hand is rarely nuts on the river. But if we get pot x-r we can almost shove turns making it more of two street game which decreases downsides of hand playability.

But then again we only have one player behind so chance of hand going checked is fairly high.

PS: So point being I would like to donk bet more with stronger QQ like QQJ9 or QQ+nfd for better playability and also for blocking CO cbet range more.

hey,
thanks so much for the feedback. About folding from sb, gotta be honest i am not sure if i would, but i have no strategic foundation to my plo play, just looking for spots with my basic understanding, so i will try especially keep you "ps" in mind for the future, its a interesting way to think about, but this vlad player was nuts and wanted to play him specifically^^
I decided to bet since i had the fd / blocking bigger fds to hit and even blocking at least one of the straight outs with the jack.
Once it went crazy i was kinda sure to be up against a weaker set and a flushdraw which felt pretty ok to get it in. seeing they both had a fd made me even a bit more happy but that kind of result oriented thinking ofc doesnt add to the situation
X-r probably would have been a good way to go but this vlad player was very crazy (something like 45% vpip / 30% 3bet and agressive on later streets aswell) so i just expected him to raise against my donk and get it in. a check raise could've scared him off. Was wrong but that was my reasoning in the moment.

GL with your challenge - starting with $20 AND PLO is in itself a very risky business.
You already found the PLO-master in ghaleon here, so ... you are in the best hands!

thanks mate, its risky business indeed on the other hand i feel, a plo-donk like me shouldn't dedicate too much to this ^^
The great support here gives some wind under my wings and hope over time i can also improve my play (assuming my challange doesnt fail)

*edit - by the way - didnt get this "bankrollchallanger"-icon yet. did i miss something signing up or it may just take a few more days?

Yeah, give it some time. If after a couple of days you don't see it, I suggest that you create a customer support ticket Follow the link then click the beside "Open a new ticket"
Give them all the details you can, such as your username, the date when you started the challenge and so on.

I noticed on stream yesterday, you didn't accept "Run It Twice" requests. Is that standard, or do you sometimes do so?
I will frequent accept them if I'm way ahead.

thanks, spoke already to SvenBe, i belive he is on it :)
Also calling it a day - had some nice run good today - almost 8 stacks up - now ~ 59$ + rakebckstuff
will check the session and post interesting hands and update with an overall graph latest tomorrow.

*edit - And yes - always run it once. like this dont need to think about it and its just an auto click. I understand the potential of reducing variance, but overall it should not matter right?

I'll accept a run-it-twice request as a goodwill gesture in cases where it doesn't matter that much — ie small pots, hefty equity edge and so on. It sometimes pays off when I get it in bad and request it myself.

Hand of the Day (day4) - my reasoning to send it like so - i should have at least 30%+ and get 3to1 most likely. Does someone else fold here?

Hands played : 2253
Profit: $+30,37 ----- thanks GGcare
BR: $90,91*
*disclaimer was down to ~50$ - just rakeback in form of the GGcare tickets i raked in like crazy yesterday due to flush over flush etc and likely bad and potentially tilted play by me saved the day ^^
