A bit of background, I have played online off and on for over a decade as a decent rec that wins but never really been able to push past 10NL cash or £10 tournies.

I generally fall in and out of love with the game, get bored, cash out my BR to buy things, switch game formats or something else that prevents me progressing.

This time the distraction is short deck! After grinding up from 5NL zoom and doing well and being a minor loser at 10NL zoom I've fell for 6+ on pokerstars. I love the looseness of the games, the general lack of knowledge and of course the fish!

With no tracking available for mac I'm playing without any tracking so a blog seems a good way to set goals and track my progress.

So lets start off:
bankroll: $555
short goal: $750
long goal: $2500

Very disheartening session on the 13th, some bad beats and was down and tilted pretty bad. Also drinking which doesn't help and should have walked away, ended up donking off more than I should and also blew $40 on slots :f_frown:

Starting Bankroll: $629
Closing Bankroll: $520

Few days to cool off and player again on the 16th with a good session, some good regs at the tables but plenty of people playing sub-optimally so ran up some pretty big 5-7x stacks, also cleared part 1 of the monthly PS rakeback chest which was great for recovering earlier losses

Starting Bankroll: $520
Closing Bankroll: $651

So far 8hr total played 2-4 tabling and up a decent amount despite a tilt session.

Nice quick session, lot of run good for 30 mins including someone shoving a full stack for 5x pot into my full house on the turn. Also converted 1k point for a $10 rebate.

Almost at the $750 mark, the question is when to move up to 25NL in such a high variance game where stacking off is common?

Starting Bankroll: $651
Closing Bankroll: $706

What felt like a brutal 2:30hr sessions turned out really solid, felt like I was losing every all in a memorable one with AA 3 ways with 55% equity and some very badly mis-timed bets. Ended up with some brutal wins myself including a 3-way all in with 29% and a flop all in with a gutshot + FD + backdoor SD vs made straight draw with 45% equity.

On the side placed a $5 sports bet as it was giving out a $5 spin and go ticket, easy +EV decision and ended up winning $10 in the sng. Also cleared next gold chest for $20 and about 25% towards the next monthly rakeback chest.

Hit $750 so next minor goal is $1000!

Starting Bankroll: $719
Closing Bankroll: $781
