Hello pokerstrategists!
I recently re-rediscovered the joy of poker and decided to check the old pokerstrategy website and see if there were still people here with which I can share my joys and grieves (hopefully more joys). I used to be a member a long time ago when there was a .bg domain and pokerstars hadn't banned US players yet (fun times). I've been on and off of online poker for short times during my life. When I draw the line I consider myself a winning player and in 2021 I decided to approach it more seriously as a side thing that can possibly earn me some small amounts of cash.
I'm super into MTTs, but as a person with a full time job, I can't really dedicate the time to playing in them and not feel like crap the next day, cause I stayed till 4am finishing tournaments, so I decided I can play something else and splurge for the occasional MTT once in a while. The format that got my attention was Spin and Gos. I started reading about them and after playing a few I saw that there were people there that couldn't tell the difference between 27 and AA so I decided to give them a go. I even bought a Spin and Go course from another site and a license for Pocker Tracker, which really helped me improve my game. Unfortunately I had to stop after a couple of months bc I had my plate full with other obligations, but nevertheless here I am again.
Graph from spins then:

Anyways I recently felt that I finally have the time to give it another shot so here I am writing my heart out about what happened and what's to come. I deposited some $30 to pokerstars to try things around. I played a few Spin Maxes since they seemed interesting to me and left them with a lot of mixed feelings. The field is incredibly soft, however with that many short stacked players and the all in phase and the randomization of prices the variance is literally insane. Maybe they can be beaten with a huge enough volume, but I don't really have the time for it.
With that in mind I decided to go back to Spin and Gos. I know there's a lot of variance there, but I'm old now and I think I have the mental strength and discipline to survive if things start to go south, and it's definitely way less than in Spin Maxes. I added some money to my account so I have 100 buy ins for the 0,25 ones and here we go.
Goals:
Make enough money to go to an EPT and WSOP
Invest enough in stocks so that I can live off the dividends and poker money.
Realistic goals:
Since I want to join the BR challenge my target goal for the end of the year will be $600.
Play at least 600 Spin and Gos each month (150 a week).
Improve my game.
Post updates at least once a week to keep track of my progress.
What's going on so far:
The last couple of days I've been super tired so I'm way behind with the volume. Also I'm attending a wedding this weekend so probably will have some catching up to do next week. So far I've been playing one table. Tried playing two a few times, but didn't like it. Can't really focus on opponents since the format is so fast and I feel like my game is suffering.
I've been noticing that my push/fold game has a lot of room for improvement so this is definitely something I will focus on studying this month. I'm actually thinking when I manage to make an improvement in this area I might consider starting a second table when there are like 10-8BBs left for everyone and I just play push/fold. Other than that I feel like my ranges are not really that polished, so I will work on that as well. I'm currently using the free version of GTO Wizard for these stuff, but if anyone has any suggestions for free tools, please comment.
Here's my results from the first 50 tournaments I played this month. So far the 0.25s are super soft. There hasn't been any regulars I've met and I'm having a breeze. When my BR reaches $60 I will probably try to dabble in the $1s, but will go about it conservatively and go back to 0.25s if I lose more than 10 buy-ins (fall under $50).
