He hasn't been given a 100% all clear but the vet said it is more likely an infection than prostate cancer. Pretty stunned actually we thought that was it.

Great week at the tables, made a few final tables and also made Day 2 of the Grand Prix at partypoker. It was an online Day 1 and the Day 2 is at Dusk Till Dawn this Sunday.
I got my 2021 MTT stats from Unibet, I played on other sites last year but this is my challenge site. I want to put in a lot more volume this year. I currently play 4 tables at once which I think I will keep that way for now. Average buy-in was €10.
Book stuff is now going great, I have finally got myself (semi) competent with PIOSolver which is going to be a great help to a book about GTO.
You just cannot keep my dog down, we had written him off 10 days ago and now he seems really great. Still got one test for him to do in just over a week but for now he is doing well.

I managed to come 45th out of about 1284 at Dusk Till Dawn, so very happy with that as my return to live poker in the UK. Was really fun to be back at DTD and it felt very 'normal' (here in the UK all restrictions have now been lifted). Hope to play a lot of live poker in 2022.
Onto more important news, the dog turned 13 this week. He has had so many near death experiences in his life, but thankfully none of them have seen him suffer. His ability to survive and enjoy himself is remarkable. Since his little cancer scare he has been on some medication and he is doing really well. He used to wake us up in the middle of the night a lot this last year and that has currently stopped, so I guess the infection he has had was perhaps more persistant for longer than I thought.
I doubt highly that he will be here for his 14th next year. He really struggles in warmer weather and I can't see him having a good summer this year, but he has surprised us before and either way we are just making the most of the time we have left.
We had a black dog when our kids were little.
We kept her cool by wetting her down, and keeping her in the shade.
We had no air conditioning, and it was usually hotter inside than out.

partypoker launched Irish Open satellites this week and I think my 2nd poker goal this year will be to qualify for that event. I love playing in Ireland in general and since my association with Dara I am actually quite well known. My only two live poker outings since the pandemic were DTD in the UK last month and the IPO in Dublin in October. Nobody knew who I was at DTD and it is 50 minutes from my house, but it seemed everyone knew who I was in Dublin because I am known as Dara's 'tea boy'.
The dog got the official all clear yesterday - his prostate has shrunk to half the size since his medication so thats enough for the vet to sign him off and say he is cancer free. Here he is trying to escape the Vet's

Meet Arthur the new addition to the family. This wasn't an impulse thing we have been planning it for two years. Charlie seems fine with him so far.
We got him this morning, he has been an angel so far, which means I think he is going to be a nightmare at about 3AM tonight.
Charlie doesn't really like going on walks anymore so I can't wait to get this fella out in a few weeks when he has had all his booster jabs.
No poker really this week because of this guy
Arthur is at the same time the best behaved most chilled dog I have ever known, but also for one hour a night a complete maniac. Charlie is tolerating him, getting on with him a bit better and also being naughty himself using every opportunity he can to steal Arthur's food.
He is sleeping much better through the night than we expected he would, but I was so tired this week I played a UOS event, decided to play in on my phone in bed, got the chip lead with 20 players left and fell asleep, blinding out to 7th place. Actually quite a good result TBH.
He has had his final vaccinations so we can walk him from Tuesday, I can't wait.

New dog is fantastic, old dog is struggling a bit I am afraid, his vision is getting much worse. We don't think he will make the summer so our priority for the next 2-3 months is going to be to show he an amazing time, and play with the pup whenever he is sleeping.
